Herby, slightly sweaty greenish semillon aromas of melon and lemon rind with some earthy burned matchstick-like bound sulphide complexity. Lean, dry and citrusy, with a bright core of intense, vibrant fruit finishing long and mineral, with attractive steely austerity. Refreshing and lively.
Lightly herbal, dusty and chalky aromas of green melon and chalk reveal floral undertones, while its restrained palate of lemony, honeydew melon flavour has a pleasing length and a dusty, chalky finish. It’s a presently pretty wine, bright and lively, with balance and focus, but should become considerably richer and rounder with time in the bottle.
Very stylish and seamless, with a lightly meaty, smoky bouquet whose restrained expression of melon and green olives are backed by hints of grilled nuts and creamy, lees-derived complexity. It’s long, concentrated and unctuous, but effortlessly smooth and elegant. ThereÕs genuine lusciousness and roundness, but underpinned by a silky-fine presence of the finest crunchy phenolics. It finishes with gentle acids, with suggestions of lightly toasty vanilla oak and a persistent core of fresh citrus and melon fruit.
Very smooth and measured, this finely balanced wood-aged semillon offers drinkability and charm. Its fresh bouquet of fresh melon, nectarine and gooseberries is lightly herbaceous and nutty, with very lightly toasty undertones of vanilla oak and a whiff of citrus. Long, smooth and creamy, its luscious palate is supported by a fine underlay of powdery phenolics, with a fresh oaky presence. It finishes with soft acids and a trace of herbaceousness.
Stylish and elegantly structured, if perhaps a little faster to mature than usual. Its buttery, citrusy fragrance of honeydew melon, nutty oak and cinnamon reveals a hint of struck match. Underpinned by a pronounced chalkiness, itÕs long and toasty with bright melon/lemon fruit knit with sweet vanilla oak and waxy undertones, culminating in a fresh, lively finish.
A lean, taut cellar style with delicate herbal and slightly grassy aromas of apple blossom, pear juice and green melon plus a long, cleanly defined palate whose gentle flavours of melon, apple and pear are wrapped in a trim, green apple and citrusy acidity. Certain to flesh out over time.
With the length and balance for the long term, this young semillon has a dusty and faintly spicy bouquet of melon and citrusy fruit backed by meaty, creamy complexity. ItÕs lean and stylish, with an intense core of pristine fruit and a fine, dusty backbone that extends towards a shapely and persistent finish of tightly focused, mineral acids.
Tobaccoey honeydew melon fruit backed by faintly smoky vanilla oak.
Pristine aromas of citrus oil, minerals and creamy, tobaccoey undertones precede a long, juicy and layered palate whose juicy melon/lime/lemon fruit is deftly augmented by older oak and creamy, nutty undertones. It finishes with freshness, balance and focus.
