Vibrant, racy, juicy southern Rhne blend with some pleasing meaty complexity beneath its spicy floral fragrance and its plump, concentrated palate of dark berries and plums. Smooth and very silky, its long, lingering and fruit-driven.
Slightly cooked and jammy, with grenache-dominant aromas of spicy red plums, blueberries and cherries over herbal undertones and slightly spiky oak. With upfront jammy fruit, the palate is initially quite smooth and silky but then becomes more rustic, earthy and leathery, with some funkiness before a slightly raw and savoury finish. Slightly disjointed.
A spicy, polished and deeply flavoured red blend whose juicy flavours of blackberries, blueberries and red plums reveal a slightly confectionary and jujube aspect. The nose is slightly cooked, but reveals pleasing meaty and earthy undertones. Smooth and velvet-like, the palate is similarly meaty, jammy fruit backed and rustic influences culminating in a slightly chunky finish of licorice-like spice that will settle down over time. It’s one of the better wines under this label.
Slightly jammy and confectionary aromas of red plums, redcurrants and violets are backed by dusty, spicy notes of cloves and cinnamon, light mocha oak plus a distinctly tarry aspect. Forward and juicy, it’s vibrant and intense enough, but lacks great palate length, finishing with a savoury and slightly salty aspect and a lingering note of licorice. Backed by fine, restrained tannins, it’s an early drinker.
Charmingly composed, with brambly flavours of blueberries, cassis, licorice and cloves harmoniously matched with restrained, polished oak and entwined around a firm spine of powdery tannin. Medium in weight, itÕs heady and perfumed, with a pleasing juiciness and a lingering, fine-grained finish.
Wild, spicy and slightly meaty aromas of blueberries, dark plums and redcurrants are backed by suggestions of cloves, licorice and a hint of spirit. Smooth and juicy, its generous, creamy palate is forward and well-ripened, delivering an appealing lusciousness and presence of fruit that culminates in a lingering finish of pleasing acidity and brightness. Quite complex, tight and harmoniously balanced, but very slightly candied.
Likely to age into a meaty, slightly sweeter and more raisined style, this briary and slightly jammy red blend packs the depth of dense, but slightly baked dark fruit to handle its firm, drying grip. Scented with a slightly meaty and kernel-like bouquet of plums, prunes and earthy, apricot-like undertones, itÕs long and measured, finishing with intensity and a slight sweetness.
Sweetly fruited, bright and luscious, this fine-grained Rhne blend delivers bright, spicy black, blue and red fruits underpinned by meaty and earthy aspects, finishing dusty and savoury. Its briary perfume of red and blue flowers, cassis, raspberries and blueberries reveals a hint of chocolate, while its smooth, medium-bodied palate has a gentle spine and a lingering core of pastille-like fruit and a fresh, lively finish.
Rather more sweet than savoury, this vibrant young blend has a wild, spicy bouquet of blueberries, blackberries and licorice whose scents of fresh blue and red flowers are backed by meaty nuances. ItÕs forward and vibrant, with a plump, juicy palate steeped in pastille-like fruit and underpinned by fine, supple tannins. Long and smooth, itÕs quite broad and jammy, finishing with a hint of spirity warmth.
Smooth and polished, this elegant, fine-grained blend has a spicy, meaty and slightly brambly bouquet of dark berries, plums and dried herbs that opens with more brightness after time in the glass. It slowly opens to reveal a juicy core of spicy, licorice-like flavour and chalky tannin that extends towards a gentle, dusty finish of plum, berry and currant-like fruit.
Presently more shiraz-driven than usual, with a spicy, peppery fragrance of blackberries, blueberries and cassis lifted by fresh scents of blue flowers. ItÕs long and smooth, with a plump mid palate of intense briary berry/plum flavours framed by a fine chalky extract, finishing with freshness and focus. Already very complete and complex, ready to enjoy.
