A deep, very concentrated shiraz almost raw in its youthfulness. Layers of deep, minty aromas of cassis, plums and blueberries are lifted by a deep floral fragrance, musky spices and undertones of briar and black pepper. Coated by assertive, firm tannins, its ripe almost liqueur-like palate is thickly laden with searingly intense flavours of plums and blackcurrants, knit tightly with sweet chocolate/vanilla oak, before finishing long and penetrative, with a slight lingering mintiness.

Plush and classy, neither contrived nor over-ripe; a typically smooth and silky top-drawer red from 1999. Complex and quite exotic, it’s scented with a slightly meaty perfume of violets, cassis, musk and black pepper. Long and creamy, with a minty edge to its dark plum, prune and cassis flavours, it’s enhanced by creamy chocolate oak and framed by firm, but fine-grained tannins.

A sumptuous and stylish modern shiraz and a classic reflection of its vintage. Its floral perfume of accentuated cassis, redcurrants, raspberries, plums and dark cherries has a faintly meaty aspect and overlies tightly knit cedar/dark chocolate/vanilla oak with musky undertones of violets, cinnamon and cloves. Silky-smooth and fine-grained; its slightly sour-edged fruit, savoury oak and velvet tannins effortlessly combine, culminating in a long and persistent finish.

A significant movement towards a southern Rh™ne style, with layers of depth and texture. Evolving and meaty, with earthy, leathery nuances beneath its aromas of dark plums, flowers and berries, pan drippings and white pepper. Long and fine-grained, itÕs supported by robust, bony but pliant tannins, but given a gentle, harmonious complement of oak. An expression of restrained power, it finishes quite savoury, with length and drive.
