A richly flavoured, well ripened and complete, grenache-dominant blend with a fine length of powerful dark frutis inderpinendby a firm, gravelly spine and showing some leathery and meaty development. Does need time.
Very spicy and slightly jammy aromas of dark plums and cassis are backed by nuances of licorice and sweet vanilla/coconut oak, with an assertive whiff of viognier-derived apricot. Intense, punchy flavours of plums and blackberries become more savoury, earthy and even funky along the soft and voluptuous palate. Finishes with a persistent hint of spicy berry fruit, framed by fine, tight-knit tannins.
A bright and lively blend with a spicy perfume of cassis, raspberries and vanilla oak over dusty suggestions of white and black pepper. Sweet and juicy, the palate is smooth, silky and creamy, with vibrant spicy fruit supported by fine-grained tannins, leaving a lasting impression of fruit and spice, cinnamon and aniseed. One of the best aspects of this wine is that the viognier is barely perceptible it fits so unobtrusively into the shiraz background.
Spicy, earthy and charcuterie-like aromas of dark plums, blackberries and musky spices precede a long, vibrant and dark-fruited palate framed by firmish, fine and drying tannins. It’s ever so slightly cooked, but steeped in flavours of blackberries and plums backed by chocolate oak, finishing with faint meaty, savoury notes, lingering dark fruit and spiciness.
Meaty, rather evolved, earthy and spicy aromas of red and black berries are lifted by a viognier’s floral qualities but still lack genuine intensity. Simple and forward, its warm, slightly soupy palate lacks genuine length of fruit, finishing cooked and stale but lifted to a degree by some pleasing oak.
Juicy, ripe and forward, with a musky, spicy and peppery presence of slightly meaty and currant-like raspberry/blackberry/cassis flavours lifted by a pronounced expression of apricot blossom viognier influences. ItÕs sumptuous and jammy, and despite its viognier-driven intensity at the front of the palate, it lacks great length, finishing rather metallic and slightly dehydrated.
An earthy, slightly leathery red lifted by spicy floral aromas and whose lightly baked expression of small berries, plums and fruitcake-like spices has moderate weight and depth, plus a fine-grained, drying undercarriage. Lacking great length and freshness, it finishes with lingering meatiness.
Slightly baked and lacking great length, with a spicy, earthy and faintly meaty bouquet of redcurrants, blackberries, briar and musky spices backed by restrained cedar/vanilla oak. Its rich, forward, almost currant-like expression of berry/plum fruit dries out towards a meaty, slightly raisined and herbal finish.
