A supple, youthful and rather old-fashioned red whose minty expression of cassis and plum cabernet fruit is paired with fresh, chocolatey cedar/vanilla oak. Supported by fine, silky tannins and tightly knit with oak, it’s elegant and medium to full-bodied, with a bright, lively and minty expression of juicy cabernet flavour finishing with leanness and length.
Likely to mature slowly with meaty, rustic complexity, this ultra-ripe and raisiny cabernet has a dense aroma of dark plums and currants lifted by notes of cassis and chocolate/mocha oak with suggestions of menthol. Supported by a firm, powdery extract, its dark and briary palate lacks a true core of ripeness, finishing with some edgy, metallic aspects. Give it time.
An elegant, minty Coonawarra cabernet whose floral, lightly dusty bouquet of small black and red berries, cedary oak and dried herbs overlies an earthy, mineral note. Smooth and seamless, itÕs long and vibrant with a polished, delightfully clear presence of small berry flavour wound around a dusty, firmish spine. It finishes with fine balance and a pleasing acidity plus a lingering suggestion of mint and menthol.
Harmonious and floral, with a fragrance of red berries, dried herbs and cedar/vanilla oak backed by a faint mintiness. ItÕs long and supple, with a gentle presence of fruit and restrained oak supported by pliant but firmish tannins. It should age gently and slowly and just lacks the intensity for a higher score.
Smooth, supple and vivacious, this spicy, peppery and floral shiraz blend has a minty bouquet of cassis, blackberries and cedar/vanilla oak backed by a regional whiff of eucalypt. ItÕs long, smooth and brightly lit, with pure, vibrant flavours of dark berries and plums knit with cedar/chocolate oak and framed by fine, powdery tannins. It finishes with genuine length and persistence.
