Earthy, meaty aromas of sweet red and black berries, lightly varnishy oak and menthol precede a smooth, soft and creamy palate whose lightly soupy fruit reveals some underlying herbal notes and a slightly hard and greenish finish.
Meaty, greenish and vegetal aromas of plummy fruit precede rather a raw and green-edged palate whose meaty plum-like fruit initially offers some ripeness and sweetness, but then fades towards a slightly metallic finish of dried herbs.
An elegant, slightly herbal cabernet with floral aromas of small black and red berries over leafy, greenish and capsicum-like influences. The palate is initially bright and vibrant, with intense berry and plum fruit and emerging cedar/cigarbox undertones, but thins out a little towards a green-edged finish. It offers some genuine structure and vitality of fruit.
A well handled but slightly under-ripened short-term cabernet whose meaty, earthy and green-edged aromas of dark plums and cassis overlie creamy cedary oak. Supported by firm and gritty tannin, it begins with vibrant fruit but becomes more lean and dilute towards the finish.
A short to medium term red whose dusty aromas of small black and red berries and cedary vanilla oak reveal tobaccoey undertones of capsicum and asparagus. It’s polished and oaky, with a modest presence of fresh small berry fruits and fine, powdery tannins but is clearly underpinned by a thread of greenish under-ripe character.
Juicy, almost jammy, jujube-like aromas of fresh blackcurrants, dark plums and cedar/vanilla oak reveal a suggestion of raisined fruit. ItÕs smooth, evenly paced and elegant, with a long, palate-staining presence of berries, plums and prunes backed by sweet, tight-grained vanilla oak, finishing marginally short, with slightly green-edged and metallic tannins. A good wine , but marginally under and overripe.
Showing some age, with a dusty, cedary and earthy bouquet of restrained fruit and leathery undertones. ItÕs smooth, medium to full-bodied and perhaps marginally baked, with a moderately long palate of dark plum and berry fruit finishing with some greenish and metallic edges. Just showing signs of under and overripeness.
Soft and smooth, this early-drinking cabernet delivers sweet, juicy pastille-like cassis and dark plum-like fruit knit with cedar/vanilla oak and backed by smoky, gravelly nuances. ItÕs long and elegant, with a pliant, gentle spine and some rustic, slightly meaty and savoury development.
Greenish and lacking genuine ripeness, this earthy, faintly smoky cabernet has a meaty and herbaceous bouquet lacking much depth of fruit. Underpinned by greenish, rather metallic tannins, itÕs forward and earthy, with a gamey, herbal presence of black and red berry/plum flavours that finishes without much length or focus.
A pleasing return to form for this label. This finely balanced long-term cabernet is laced with scents of violets and mint over earthy, meaty nuances of small black and red berries, dark plums, chocolate/cedar/vanilla oak and a hint of menthol. ItÕs long and supple with a crunchy, gravelly spine beneath juicy, sweetly fruited and rather meaty, gamey fruit, finishing fine and drying with distinct savoury qualities.
Very elegant and stylish, the finest red under this label for some years has a pristine but complex and violet-like bouquet of fresh mulberries and dark plums backed by faintly smoky cedar/vanilla oak. Silky-smooth, itÕs long and vibrant, with a translucent core of intense dark berry and plum fruit, tight-grained oak and a firmish spine of tightly knit tannins extending with length and focus towards a balanced and youthful finish.
