Long, elegant and gentle, this smooth, pliant and artfully shaped red marries a slightly preserved presence of red cherries, plums and small berries with cinnamon-like spice and pliant, loose-knit tannins. Oak is subtle and secondary, while it finishes with shape, charm and a very faint herbal note. Delightful.
A supple, elegant and fine-grained meunier whose fragrance of raspberries, red cherries and cedary oak reveals a whiff of mint and dried herbs. Underpinned by a fine, faintly kernelly extract, it’s long and juicy, with generous layers of fruit and drive of flavour, finishing with a refreshing acidity and a hint of herb.
Riper, rounder and more flavoursome than previous vintages of this wine, its spicy and faintly floral bouquet of juicy dark cherries and blood plums reveals a whiff of citrus oil, spearmint and dried herbs. Medium to fullish in weight, with a fine slatey undercarriage, it’s plush and generous, finishing with pleasing length and freshness.
A gentle, supple and savoury pinot whose aromas of red roses, cherries and redcurrants hint towards some cedary oak and a note of dried herbs. Initially forward and viscous, it moves down a fine, dusty spine towards finish of modest length and drive. A shorter-term wine, and released separately from the Estate’s usual labels.
Perfumed and floral, with a delicate aroma of raspberries, strawberries and red cherries, carefully offset by restrained cedar and vanilla oak. Long and elegant, with some smoothness and sappy fatness. Supple and willowy, with sweet flavours of berries, cherries and plums finishing savoury and wrapped in silky, tight-knit tannins.
An elegant, reserved Mornington pinot whose spicy aromas of red cherries, raspberries and restrained oak overlie nuances of undergrowth and turned earth. Soft and supple, it packs plenty of fruit above a firm, slightly powdery chassis of fine tannins. There’s a hint of dried herbs that is likely to become more tobaccoey with time in the bottle.
Perfumed and floral, laced with rose petals, red cherries, cinnamon and raspberries, this savoury and lightly smoky pinot is stylish and elegant, with a pleasing structure of fine, underlying tannin. It’s forward and juicy, with underlying suggestions of molasses before a lingering, slightly meaty finish.
