Scents of white flowers, lavender, lime juice and lemon rind precede a sumptuous, juicy palate that slowly acquires the shape and brightness expected of this vineyard. ItÕs long and drying, with a faint chalkiness that becomes more mineral towards its finely honed lemon-lime finish. ItÕs a solid warmer season expression, but lacks the rapier-like style and complexity of the top vintages.
From the stellar 2021 vintage comes a Polish Hill steeped in perfume and flavour and superbly shaped around a fine, slatey texture and mouthwatering, brittle acidity. Pristine scents of red apple skin, lime juice and lemon zest are lifted by heady aromas of white flowers and iris, with undertones of pear and chalk. ItÕs lustrous and deeply layered, with vivacious fruit that drives long and penetrative towards a finish of superb balance and persistence.
Zesty, lively passionfruit and melon fruits moving to tropical on the palate. Very intense and mouthfilling with fresh acids.
Superbly generous, fleshy and succulent, this label again confirms its status amongst the best of its kind in Australia. Ahead of a near-perfect mouthfeel is a complex, nutty nose with apple and lemon influences, while the palate is close to oily with its tangy lemony texture. Much about the wine suggests a light oak influence, such is its complexity, a suggestion entirely refuted by the label itself.
