An effortless, stylish and seamless shiraz whose spicy bouquet of intense red and black berries, creamy cedary oak, baked earth and blueberries is lifted by a whiff of paprika. Fullish to medium in weight, itÕs shapely and beautifully presented, with a succulent core of vivacious black and blue fruit tightly knit with chocolatey oak and supported by a velvet-smooth backbone of loose-knit dusty tannins. ItÕs sold in a claret shaped bottle, but is perhaps more suited to a burgundy shape Ð such is the style of this delightful shiraz.
Juicy, pastille-like aromas of cassis, mulberries, cranberries and blood plums knit with creamy, cedary oak reveal notes of paprika, black pepper and a floral scent. ItÕs plush and beautifully ripened, moderately full in weight, revealing a pleasing length of juicy red, black and blue fruit underpinned by fine tannins and finishing with an appealing sour edge.
Savoury and herbal, laced with mint and menthol plus a tomatoey aspect, it has fleshed out with some roundness and plumpness to become a moderately generous dry red style that lacks genuine varietal charm and definition.
Pristine and translucently clear, with a sweet, rose petal bouquet of red cherries, raspberries, and restrained oak backed by suggestions of dried herbs, citrus oil and cinnamon. ItÕs long and supple, with a gentle, medium-bodied palate of blood plums, cherries and red berries underpinned by notes of baked earth and a firmish, dusty spine. Charming and gentle, with a faint fiery aspect but just a too much of herbal influence for a higher rating.
Sour-edged cherry, blueberry and dark plum lifted by sweet floral notes and backed by bony tannin.
Dusty, herbal and faintly medicinal, with cherry/berry fruit and cola undertones; medium-bodied and green-rimmed.
Juicy and confectionary, supple and savoury with red cherries, citrus and raspberry fruit; lacks great length and drive.
Pretty, perfumed, floral and spicy, with translucent, almost fragile small berries, cherries, prunes and licorice underpinned by herbal notes and fine, dusty tannins. Finishes with a lively acidity.
Sweet and floral; scents of rose petals and citrus oil are backed by notes of ginger and cinnamon. Initially juicy, it becomes thin and short, lacking true mid palate weight and depth.
Backed by dusty notes of dried herbs, this supple, soft and medium-bodied shiraz has a sweetly fruited expression of faintly jammy small red berries and redcurrants knit with cedar/vanilla oak. A fraction warm and spirity, its juicy palate is supported by a pliant, gentle spine and is already evolving some leathery complexity.
