While this long, firm and structured blend is presently rather tight and sinewy, it has plenty of fruit for the journey ahead. ItÕs scented with a minty, violet-like bouquet of cassis, dark plums, blackberries and cedar/chocolate oak backed by a whiff of menthol. Long, smooth and polished, with a pure, minty presence of dark plums, blackberries and briar, itÕs supported by a firm, drying spine of powdery tannins and finishes with a briny mineral note.
Very polished and refined, this elegant and finely structured blend reveals a sweet, slightly minty bouquet of blood plums, cassis and fresh cedar/vanilla oak underpinned by dusty, herbal and menthol-like notes. Underpinned by fine, gravelly tannins, itÕs long and smoky, with deep flavours of plums, berries and fresh cedary oak extending long towards a savoury finish.
A powerful, profoundly structured and fractionally raisined red whose deep, dark and chocolatey aromas of dark plums, blackberries and cassis reveal nuances of mint and cherry kernel. ItÕs sumptuously and deeply flavoured, with a layered presence of dark plums and berries, dark olives and cedary, chocolatey oak framed by polished tannins and finishing with a note of dark olives.
Seamless, sour-edged and stylish; piercing small dark berries, cedary oak and fine, graphite-like tannins; long and medium-bodied, scented with violets.
Very stylish, reserved and restrained, this intensely flavoured wine simply bursts with penetrative aromas of violets and cassis, supported by lightly smoky cedar and mocha oak. Its accentuated and sweet pure dark berry fruit suggests mulberries, cassis and ripe plum, while its tight-knit tannins lend a lingering firmness to its savoury finish.
Searingly intense, long and seamless, this superbly structured and balanced cabernet marries piercing berry, cherry and plum-like fruit with cedar/chocolate oak and a firm, drying spine of chalky tannin. Scented with slightly minty nuances of violets and dried herbs, it’s ripe, lavish and savoury, without a hint of overripeness. A great bargain and a genuine standby in case you can’t get The Tally from the same vintage.
