Restrained and finely balanced, with a spicy, floral and faintly sweet presence of rose water and lychees underpinned by a fine dustiness and wrapped in a racy acidity.
Charmingly expressive and generous, with genuine mouthfeel and presence, but unlikely to evolve into the excessive fatness that traminer can often deliver. A musky, floral perfume of rose oil and lychees precedes a long, round and luscious palate with an appealing richness but not a cloying fatness. It extends down a finely chalky palate towards a balanced, dry-ish finish and pristine fruit and meaty, yeast-derived undertones. Vietnam, here I come…
A penetrative, heady perfume of lychees, rose water, musk and lychees is laced with exotic spice and dried flowers. Underpinned by a fine, bony spine, it delivers the intensity and presence expected on the palate of a serious traminer, but it lacks the heaviness and fatness that make so many oily and clunky. Instead thereÕs juicy intensity and shape, with a pleasing suggestion of sweetness thatÕs perfectly countered by its acidity and texture. It finishes with length and refreshing acidity, with the kind of pleasing balance that will help it age gracefully.
A splendidly long and austere wine whose mineral finish is preceded by a delicate, floral fragrance of apples, lime and lemon sherbet and a supple, fleshy palate.
