Tight, fine and fragrant pinot with a youthfully oaky bouquet of small berries, plums and a hint of currant. Generous, long and complete, it’s presently firm and fine-grained, but its balance, depth of vibrant fruit and structure suggest it will flesh out nicely.

    Grosset Pinot Noir 2004
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A pristine, perfumed and precisely flavoured pinot noir whose delicate rose petal perfume of raspberries, strawberries and lightly toasty vanilla oak reveals nuances of confectionary and bacon. Despite its fineness and silkiness, it’s deeply fruited and surprisingly astringent; likely to build more depth of flavour and firmness of structure with time in the bottle. It finishes long, with undertones of earthiness.

    Grosset Pinot Noir 2005
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A rich, deeply fruited and brooding pinot whose ripe, slightly stewy presence of maraschino cherries and plums overlies meaty, charcuterie-like undertones backed by cloves, cinnamon and a hint of rhubarb. Underpinned by firm, drying but fine-grained tannins, it’s fairly closed but deeply layered, finishing with an impression of hidden strength. It retains elements of style and finesse.

    Grosset Pinot Noir 2006
    Jeremy’s score 86/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Fruity and forward, with some confectionery flavours of raspberries, cassis and blueberries, itÕs bright and generous but lacks length and structure, falling rather short and thin. ItÕs helped by some sweet mocha/vanilla oak, but does reflect an unusually hot vintage.

    Grosset Pinot Noir 2007
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Smooth and soft, with minty, slightly musky aromas of spicy redcurrants, reed cherries with undertones of caramel/vanilla oak and a whiff of red flowers. ItÕs polished and quite ethereal, with pleasingly intense cherry/berry fruit perhaps rather lacking in structure but finishing with refreshing acidity and a lingering note of menthol and eucalypt.
