    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2003
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A ripe and profoundly structured cabernet blend whose depth of fruit and measured balance should set it up for at least a decade’s cellaring. Dark, ripe and juicy, its deep, earthy aromas of dark plums, cassis and red berries are backed by cedar/chocolate oak with smoky undertones. Tightly wound about a firm, powdery spine of astringent tannin, its assertive and drying palate of rich plum and berry flavour reveals undertones of mint and dried herbs. A well-measured warm year wine.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2005
    Jeremy’s score 86/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very polished winemaking has given some style and structure to this earlier-developing Gaia, whose herbal and green-edged fruit is starting to lose its primary freshness. ItÕs floral and earthy, with a scent of blackberries, blueberries, dried herbs and polished, creamy cedar/vanilla oak. Supported by chocolate oak and a green-edged and metallic chassis, its slightly edgy and angular palate shows both under and overripeness.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2006
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A finely structured, savoury and rather complex wine whose floral, earthy and slightly meaty aromas of dark plums and berries are coupled with cedary, dark chocolate-like oak. ItÕs moderately rich, with a long and meaty palate whose reserved, elegant expression of plum/red berry fruit is tightly underpinned by fine, dusty tannin, finishing long, drying and focused. ItÕs well-bred and stable, and certain to cellar well.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2007
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A firm and structured cabernet blend whose confiture-like expression of raspberries, currants, prunes and redcurrant jelly just borders on the overcooked. Built atop a firm, fine and drying chassis, its palate does deliver sweet red and black berry and plum-like fruit, but dries out towards the raw and angular finish, with a meaty presence of baked flavour.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2008
    Jeremy’s score 84/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Rather under and over-ripened, made from stressed fruit, with a sweet, if slightly meaty bouquet of confiture-like cassis and blackberries knit with fresh cedar/vanilla oak and backed by a farmyard-like and vegetal presence of dried herbs, capsicum, mint and menthol. Rather baked and angular, with jammy fruit and assertive green-edged, sappy and metallic influences, it finishes rather disjointed.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2009
    Jeremy’s score 86/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

This meaty, marginally baked and also rather green-edged cabernet blend reveals some rustic, briary and minty complexity. It fleshes out with breathing to deliver more roundness and depth of fruit plus a fine, tight and chalky undercarriage. Shows signs of under and overripeness.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2010
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A long, measured and evenly paced cabernet blend whose lightly herbal and minty aromas of cassis, blackberries, dark plums and chocolate/cedary oak are densely saturated with fruit. ItÕs finely crafted, long and firmish, with a pliant backbone beneath translucent, minty regional flavours of blackberries, dark plums, blueberries and redcurrants, finishing pleasingly fresh and linear. Very well mannered, with plenty of depth, structure and longevity.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2011
    Jeremy’s score 81/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Simple, herbaceous aromas of small red and black berries, cedar/vanilla oak precede a green-edged, sappy palate whose smooth fruits culminate in rather a short, tinny and metallic finish. Sadly, it doesnÕt do justice to its label.

    Grosset Gaia Cabernet Blend 2012
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

The finest Gaia since 1998 has a fragrant, lightly minty and briary bouquet of cassis, dark plums, blackberries, sweet violet-like scents and fresh cedar/chocolate oak backed by nuances of mocha and coffee grounds. ItÕs full to medium-bodied, elegant and refined, with a spotless, juicy fruitfulness underpinned by fine, dusty tannins, slowly unfolding layers of texture and flavour. Finely balanced and long-living.
