Heady and floral – tasted at three years of age – this off-dry riesling is finding a happy place. Toasty, lemony and developing a whiff of smokiness backed by a hint of spice, it’s long, pristine and intensely flavoured, unfolding a palate of just enough flesh and roundness to counter its length, focus and faintly saline finish. It’s underpinned by notes of mineral and there’s an edgy slatey aspect to its texture. Artfully balanced, this is a delightful riesling whose marginal sweetness is barely noticeable given the quality of its balance.
A gentle, elegant blend of fiano and semillon whose faintly confectionary aromas of guava, melon and lemon are lifted by a sweet, spicy floral note. ItÕs faintly chalky, with a long, fine presence of translucent lemon and tropical flavours extending with smoothness and focus towards a refreshing but savoury finish of mouthwatering acidity.
Pure and pristine, with a faintly herbal scent of pear, apple and white flowers; it’s long and briny, with a luscious core of fruit that culminates in frisky acidity and a savoury note.
A gentle, savoury, medium-bodied fiano whose dusty bouquet of delicate floral notes, guava and honeydew melon reveals nuances of grilled nuts. It’s long and smooth, with brightly lit pear, guava and melon fruit extending down a fine statiness towards a drying and faintly meaty finish. Charming.
Tangy and flavoursome, with a floral scent of apple blossom, pear and green apple skin. It’s long and juicy, with a bright core of fruit underpinned by a a fine dustiness and wrapped in a lively acidity.
As you’d expect from Grosset, this is a layered, generous but finely honed fiano built around its vibrant core of pear, apple and white peach-like flavour. There’s a hint of spice and bakery yeast about its youthful bouquet, with a note of creamy yeast. Underpinned by a fine, pithy spine, it’s long and unctuous, focusing tightly around a refreshing lemony acidity.
