    Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2009
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A fine, powdery and rather funky young pinot gris whose deep presence of spicy varietal flavour easily handles its winemaking-derived complexity and artefact. Backed by earthy, meaty notes, its musky bouquet of pear, apple and minerals reveals undertones of apricot, clove and nutmeg. Long and smooth, underpinned by a fine, powdery backbone, its pristine palate of pear/apple fruit finishes with lingering hints of cinnamon and lychee and a taut acidity.

    Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2010
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Smooth, creamy and laid-back, this spicy, waxy and floral white wine has a musky bouquet of pear, apple, clove and cinnamon backed by a hint of lanolin. Round and generous, with an unctuous palate of rose oil, pear, apple and a light sweetness, itÕs like a white Turkish delight, finishing with rather funky and savoury evolution and complexity.

    Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2012
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Nutty aromas of stonefruit, melon and lemony notes backed by creamy, mealy complexity and heady scents of dried flowers precede an evolved, funky palate whose almost brassy expression of fruit is backed by meaty complexity, drying out a little towards a wild and savoury finish. A significant change towards a more evolved, meaty style, possibly at the expense of varietal identity.

    Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2013
    Jeremy’s score 82/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Unusual and almost white port-like, with a dusty, spirity bouquet of apricot blossom and spice plus a long but rather candied and toffee-like palate that lacks its usual freshness and varietal qualities. It finishes warm and savoury.

    Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2014
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very measured and restrained, but with a rich, creamy core, this complex and meaty young pinot gris has a musky and evolving bouquet of nougat, honeysuckle, cloves and ginger overlying an emerging hint of lanolin. ItÕs smooth and unctuous, with a heavily worked, white Turkish Delight-like presence of luscious fruit and yeast-derived texture and nutty, savoury qualities. It finishes quite savoury with a refreshing acidity and excellent length.

    Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2016
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Rich, unctuous and smooth, with a meaty, resiny, marzipan-like bouquet and a long, luscious palate of musk, rose water, lychees and a lingering funkiness. Dry and savoury.

  • Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2017
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    $60.00

A sumptuous, unctuous pinot gris whose fairly toasty aromas of pear, cinnamon and apple pie are lifted by suggestions of dried flowers and white peach. It’s rich and concentrated, smooth and dry, extending with moderate length towards a gentle finish of soft acids. Emphatic, but would rate more highly with greater length and more texture.

  • Grey Sands Pinot Gris 2018
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Developing nutty, creamy and faintly floral aromas of stonefruit, pear and apple precede a rich, musky and mouthfilling palate whose viscous, almost oily presence of fruit extends with length and softness towards a dry, savoury finish of soft acids.

A promising young pinot whose heady perfume of dark berries, cherries and earthy, meaty undertones of mint, musk and animal hide precede a long, luscious palate whose slightly sour-edged flavours of plums, berries and currants overlie a fine chassis of dusty tannin. ItÕs savoury and meaty, with an emphatically rich and lingering finish.
