Slightly herbaceous shiraz with a spicy white pepper fragrance of redcurrants, plums and restrained oak. Medium-weight, it’s forward and elegant, with some green edges and high-toned acidity.
Smooth and approachable, this is a vibrant and silky shiraz whose pristine, peppery and slightly jammy Barossa fruit and fine tannins suit it perfectly for drinking now or over the next five years. Dusted with nuances of cinnamon and cloves, its lively flavours of raspberries, cassis and blood plums also reveal lightly meaty undertones able to express themselves against an appropriately modest oak background.
A typically spicy and measured red-fruited Lyndoch shiraz whose pleasingly rich but not exaggerated expression of raspberry, red cherry and plum-like qualities reveals undertones of menthol and mint. It’s lightly dusted with cloves and cinnamon, with rather a polished measure of creamy vanilla oak to boot. With a pleasing underlying structure, it will develop for a few years yet.
Simple, slightly raw and angular, with sweet, jammy red and black berry flavours and sweet oak backed by nuances of cedar and cinnamon. Forward and juicy, it depends rather too much on its vanilla oak for length and sweetness on the palate. Honest enough, but lacking genuine balance.
Ripe, minty and confectionery, with spicy aromas of sweet red and black berries knit with cedar/vanilla oak and backed by menthol-like undertones. Medium to full in weight, its long, ripe and juicy palate of sour-edged plums, cherries and blackberries culminates in a faintly greenish and metallic finish of assertive and slightly coarse tannin, plus just a hint of saltiness.
Slightly cooked but honest and regional. Smooth, soft and approachable, with jammy, rather meaty flavours of blackberries and dark plums backed by sweet toasty vanilla oak, it lacks great length but is not without charm.
Bright, fresh and rather polished, with a pristine and briary bouquet of blackberries, raspberries, plums and fresh vanilla/mocha/chocolate oak overlying suggestions of cloves and cinnamon plus a hint of mineral. ItÕs smooth and juicy, medium to full-bodied, with a pleasing length of intense berry/plum fruit backed by fine, firmish tannins.
Jammy and currant-like, with lightly spicy aromas of blackberries and raspberries before a forward, soft and smooth palate that lacks genuine length and weight. It finishes with polish, freshness and brightness, but itÕs
without truly ripe fruit.
A generous, complete and uncomplicated Barossa shiraz with a dusty, lightly floral, musky and peppery bouquet of cassis, blackberries and fresh cedary oak. Medium to full-bodied, itÕs sweetly fruited, long and balanced, with a bright expression of small black and red berry flavours, suggestions of blueberries and light cedar/vanilla oak supported by a pliant spine of loose-knit tannin.
Vibrant and brightly lit, this pristine young shiraz marries lively, floral scents of cassis, raspberries and blackberries with fresh vanilla/coconut oak. ItÕs long and juicy, with an elegant backbone of fine-grained, dusty tannins and a slightly smoky, bacony oak influence.
A typically meaty, slightly jammy Barossa shiraz with an earthy, bouquet of redcurrant, cassis, dark plums and fresh cedar/chocolatey oak. ItÕs medium to full-bodied, with a pleasing length of lively, evenly ripened fruit and fresh, restrained oak supported by a pliant spine of loose-knit tannins. ItÕs finely balanced, finishes with a soft acidity and should age well.
