A pristine and stylish chardonnay whose generous flavours of cumquat, peach, nectarine and melon are supported by toasty vanilla oak and a complex background of creamy, leesy influences. There’s a light smokiness about the bouquet, with some earthy, reductive undertones, but the fruit is vibrant and penetrative. Smooth and elegant, the palate is long, tightly focused and creamy, finishing with lingering citrusy acids.
Slightly introverted, but appealingly approachable and complex, this warm and juicy chardonnay has a toasty, buttery bouquet of quince, cumquat, peach and melon knit tightly with creamy vanilla oak and backed by nutty, mealy suggestions. Long, smooth and generous, its juicy but slightly sour-edged fruit ties neatly with sweet oak and refreshing lemony acids, finishing with lingering if marginally candied fruit.
A typically complex and mouthfilling chardonnay from this maker, but with more palate sweetness and presence than previously. Its assertive creamy, leesy, barrel ferment aromas of melon, fig, cumquat and candied peach are backed by floral and tobaccoey nuances. Its sumptuous palate delivers a long, ripe core of fruit enhanced by meaty undertones, finishing quite stylish and savoury, with freshness and fruitiness.
Smooth and generous, but of a short-term nature, this slightly candied and estery chardonnay presents a nougat-like bouquet of quince and pineapple backed by creamy, nutty yeast-derived influences. ItÕs round, soft and juicy, with a toasty presence of grapefruit, quince and cumquat that finishes quite long and spicy, with creamy lemony acids.
A very good wine of balance, structure and complexity. Its spicy, rather smoky fragrance of quince, peach, pear and apple reveals undertones of pineapple and grapefruit, cloves and ginger. Sumptuously flavoured and luxuriantly smooth, itÕs funky and quite savoury, with a lingering core of fruit and suggestions of lanolin and smoked meats culminating in a refreshing finish of crunchy lemony acids.
Gentle, smooth and generous, this finely balanced chardonnay reveals a lightly nutty bouquet of fresh peach and pear lifted by sweet floral nuances and backed by creamy, leesy suggestions and meaty, mineral notes. Its vibrant, finely crafted palate finishes long, waxy and savoury, with a lingering nuttiness, minerality and presence of cloves and ginger.
Nutty, lightly spicy and funky aromas of white peach, melon and grapefruit with undertones of minerals and smoked meats precede a fresh, linear palate whose pleasing length of bright fruit and restrained oak finish taut and bright, with a level of austerity and acidity that just borders extreme.
A vibrant, deeply flavoured and complex chardonnay whose smoky, rather funky bouquet of grapefruit, melon and white peach has a spicy whiff of cinnamon and clove plus a hint of matchstick. Underpinned by creamy nougat-like notes and tight-knit oak, its brightly lit grapefruit, melon and lemon zest flavours extend towards a long and finely balanced finish of fresh, mouthwatering acids.
Gentle and brooding, this pristine and charming young chardonnay has a spicy perfume of white and yellow flowers, restrained peach/melon and lemony fruit with delicate creamy, nutty undertones backed by a hint of dried herbs. Its smooth, elegant palate of peach, melon and grapefruit and creamy, nutty undertones knits deftly with restrained oak, building towards a crescendo of flavour towards its long and mealy finish.
