    Giaconda Aeolia Roussanne 2000
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Giaconda’s first commercial release of roussanne is an exceptional wine of pristine varietal qualities and longevity. Its musky aroma of spicy apricot blossom, honeysuckle and peach kernel is perfectly focused, while its slightly oily and almost viscous palate finishes with a flinty mineral edge to its lingering savoury flavours.

    Giaconda Aeolia Roussanne 2002
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Spicy, accentuated and heavily worked roussanne whose racy mineral-like and heady perfume of lemon blossom, honeydew melon and cinnamon is slightly wild and funky. The palate is a little hot and broad, but packs a rich punch of limey and slightly spirity tropical and citrus-like fruit, finishing dry and savoury, mineral but a little hot.

    Giaconda Aeolia Roussanne 2004
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A long, tight and minerally roussanne with a delicate musky perfume that opens to reveal nuances of smoked meats, spices and creamy leesy undertones. Its sweet core of tangy fruit eases into its long, fleshy mid palate, leaving a lasting impression of vivaciousness and minerality. Lovely shape and harmony.

    Giaconda Aeolia Roussanne 2005
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Musky and floral, with aromas of pears and a heady perfume of almost traminer-like spiciness, this generous and savoury roussanne has its share of wild, meaty development. Its lingering, juicy core of citrus and paw paw flavour is underpinned by a fine, powdery texture, while it culminates in perhaps a fractionally sweet finish of tangy, mineral acids. Initially not as punchy as some of its predecessors but it has fleshed out with time; it has always been a tighter style.

    Giaconda Aeolia Roussanne 2006
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Slightly cooked and toasty aromas of barley sugar, honeysuckle and musk precede a rounded, supple and creamy palate whose toasty, candied expression of spicy fruit and honeyed, buttery development finish soft and smooth, with lingering notes of rose water. ItÕs moderately long and very complex, pretty and delicate, but lacks its customary freshness and intensity.

    Giaconda Aeolia Roussanne 2009
    Jeremy’s score 82/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Tiring, advanced and out of shape. Smoky, charry aromas of caramel, fig, melon and butter precede an oily, rather developed palate with a viscous, toffee-like presence of preserved lemon rind flavour. It finishes with a hint of bitterness and a soft acidity.

  • Giaconda Beechworth (Formerly Estate Vineyard) Shiraz 2021
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Meaty, smoky and earthy aromas of blackberries, redcurrants, dark plums are supported by assertive dark chocolate/cedary oak, revealing suggestions of mineral, plumcake, dried herbs, charcuterie meats and cola. Slow to open up, it’s round and sumptuous, unfolding deep, dark fruits, suggestions of roasting meats, handsome oak and a firm, drying backbone. Give it as much time as you can.
