Round and creamy, with a delightfully fine bead, it’s mouthfilling and elegant, with a delightful core of fruit backed by suggestions of pastry and spice, driving long and smooth towards a long, savoury and refreshingly dry finish.
Creamy, complex ands alluring, this charming chardonnay opens a bouquet of brioche, baked apple, nougat and lemon blossom. It’s medium in body, already becoming deliciously toasty and creamy, extending long and crackly towards a savoury, dry finish of refreshing acidity. There’s a pleasing crunch about the bead, while the palate reveals a fine minerality. Really a classy wine, and at $70 retail is super competitive in terms of price.
A masterpiece of a Blanc de Blancs, scented with toasty, buttery and creamy aromas of peach/melon chardonnay fruit with suggestions of nougat and brulee. Round, crackly and creamy, it’s long, dry and savoury, with a mouthfilling and textural palate whose perfectly focused fruit is underpinned by a crunchy backbone. Wrapped in a lemony acidity, it’s just starting its journey as a 7 year-old wine. A perfect case study why the finest sparkling chardonnay deserves more time in the cellar.
Punchy and ripe, with a powerful expression of yellow peach, nectarine and baked apple backed by buttery oak and creamy, nutty and nougat-like yeast influences, this sumptuous, succulent chardonnay makes a confident statement about how quality chardonnay could and can be in Australia – full of flavour, richness, charm and balance. It’s long, unctuous, persistent and memorable.
A fine, restrained and supple pinot whose dusty, faintly herbal aromas of dark cherries, raspberries and strawberries are lifted by scents of eastern spices and rose petals and backed by fresh cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak, notes of forest floor and citrus oil. A vivacious, sour-edged core of red cherries, blueberries and strawberries extends with viscosity, drive and focus down a fine, powdery spine. Likely to build over time in the bottle.
Smoky, heady and floral, with deep aromas of dark cherries blood plums and redcurrants, this richly flavoured, fleshy and generous pinot delivers plushness and roundness, length and drive over a fine, drying and slatey spine. It’s bordering opulent, with a rich, sumptuous core of fruit and excellent length.
Evolved and complex this lean and rather funky winemaker-driven chardonnay should age well over the medium term Its meaty and reductive with layered scents of melon peach dried flowers and minerals While its oak is fractionally overt and its acids slightly edgy it will discover more balance with time It already reveals some appealing fleshiness and richness and should continue to build weight Keep it for a year to two yet
