    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 1998
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Classically deep, dark and spicy shiraz whose briary, musky perfume of ripe fruit and sweet oak precedes a luscious, densely packed palate of extraordinary depth, power and surprising fineness and elegance. Super expression of dark plum and cassis fruit, tightly knit with astringent but velvet-smooth tannins and chocolate/vanilla oak.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 1999
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very elegant, restrained and sophisticated; a finely balanced marriage of intense varietal fruit with fine-grained oak and tight, firm tannins. A musky, briary fragrance of earthy small berries and plums precedes a willowy palate of suppleness, length and bright mulberry, cherry and cassis fruit.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2000
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Surprisingly elegant and stylish despite its not insignificant alcoholic strength. There’s a wild, briary aspect to its meaty, earthy aromas of cooked cherries, redcurrants, cloves and cinnamon, while its caramel/vanilla oak is well integrated. Warm, smooth and fine-grained, it drips with a spectrum of dark cherries, plums, prunes and currants, finishing long and velvet-smooth.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2002
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Rather a savoury, herbal Rh™ney shiraz with a musky, meaty and peppery aroma of small black and red berries and dried herbs. There’s plenty of softness and round, generous earthy dark berry flavour, while it finishes nutty, spicy and savoury, with just a hint of herby sappiness. It’s a polished wine, but a closer look does suggest it struggled for ripeness.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2003
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A rather cooked but generously flavoured and profoundly structured shiraz, with greenish undertones smoothed over by excellent use of creamy chocolate oak. Exotically spiced, with musky aromas of black pepper, cinnamon and cloves, its deep scents of dark cherries and plums are backed by nuances of dried herbs. Sumptuous and concentrated, its earthy, leathery palate of plums, prunes and currants delivers sufficient brightness of fruit before finishing with a slightly metallic grip.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2004
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Heady, wild, floral and musky aromas of cassis, plums, redcurrants and cranberries are handsomely supported by dusty new vanilla oak and backed by minty nuances of menthol, licorice and treacle. Sumptuous and smooth, its seamless palate unfolds layers of sour-edged dark berries and plums with mocha and vanilla oak framed by tightly knit, fine-grained tannins. Tremendous depth, tightness and balance.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2005
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Meaty, chocolatey aromas of dark plums and black pepper precede a relatively light palate for this vineyard, whose rather pretty expression of cassis and raspberry flavours knits well with sweet oak and slightly gritty tannins that smooth out towards the finish. It does culminate with rather cooked and dehydrated characters plus some metallic elements, and appears to have been made from slightly riper fruit than its alcoholic strength of 14.3% would indicate.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2006
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very finely crafted, long and elegant, this is a substantially more reserved expression of shiraz from this vineyard. Scented with blackberries, redcurrants and fresh chocolate/vanilla oak, it’s lifted by aromas of black pepper, cloves and cinnamon. Medium to full in weight, its supple palate of sweet black and red berries, cedary oak and suggestions of meatiness is underpinned by a dusty spine of fine tannin. It finishes with just a hint of cooked and green-edged flavour.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2007
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

An honest but slightly under and overripe shiraz whose meaty presence of dark plums and blackberries does reveal an underswell of herbal influence and a whiff of iodide. Dark, brambly and briary, its earthy, forward palate of plum and blackberry-like fruit is underpinned by a raw, hard-edged grip, finishing with suggestions of dried herbs.

    Dalwhinnie Moonambel Shiraz 2008
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A huge return to form for Dalwhinnie. Beautifully ripe and vibrant, with layers of deliciously spicy fruit finely integrated with oak and tannin. Deep, ripe aromas of dark berry/plum fruit are backed by musky spices and fresh cedary, gamey notes. Long, smooth and succulent, with a seamless presence of juicy dark cherry/plum flavour tightly knit with vanilla oak, it finishes with persistent meaty undertones and a fine, lingering grip of dusty, astringent tannins.
