Meaty, brambly aromas of spicy cassis and plum fruit, licorice, chocolate and mocha, with a mellow spirit lift and fragrance. Ripe, concentrated but surprisingly elegant palate of slightly prune-like dark berry flavours tightly knit with firm tannins, culminating in a powerful finish of meaty shiraz and fennel-like flavours. First-rate Australian vintage port style.
Deep, dark and spicy aromas of dark plums, currants and cassis overlie nuances of licorice, cloves and cinnamon, with a very clean and aromatic lift of spirit. Very clean, restrained and fine-grained, its savoury and spicy palate is partially reminiscent of the Portuguese expression of vintage port. Its tannins are tight and powdery, its lingering finish slightly meaty and spicy.
An elegant, finely crafted and evenly measured fortified red with a juicy, almost jujube-like expression of briary cassis, dark plum, blueberry and blackberry fruit backed by layers of meaty, spicy and spirity complexity. ItÕs heady and perfumed, with a long, persistent and tightly focused palate backed by very pliant and approachable loose-knit but fine-grained tannins, finishing with lingering nuances of black olives, high cocoa dark chocolate and genuinely refreshing acids. Fortified with excellent spirit, itÕs likely to age beautifully.
A traditionally sweet Australian Ôvintage portÕ style packed with brambly, mouthfilling fruit supported by fine, loose-knit tannins and steeped in wonderful old brandy spirit. ItÕs scented with deep, confiture-like layers of small black and red berries, plums and dark chocolates lifted by aromas of pepper, licorice and espresso. Sumptuous and velvet-like, itÕs long and luscious but beautifully honed down its firm, drying backbone.
