    d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2008
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A very good and elegant regional wine representing great value. A fragrant perfume of violets, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon lifts its dark fruit aromas of blackberries, cassis and plums, backed by restrained chocolate/vanilla oak. Full to medium in weight, with dark, juicy fruit underpinned by measured, loose-knit tannins and augmented by reserved oakiness, itÕs long, balanced and persistent.

    d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2009
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Slightly cooked and marginally hollow, with a baked, herbal bouquet whose aromas of dark berries, plums and sweet floral notes are backed by chocolatey oak and suggest a whiff of viognier. Firm, pliant and fine-grained, its mineral and faintly meaty palate is slightly cooked and flat, finishing with spicy, herbal notes but a lingering note of cassis and redcurrant flavour.

    d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2010
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A rustic, old-fashioned cellaring shiraz whose moderately intense bouquet of cassis, mulberries and dark plums has a rustic background of polished leather, chocolatey and earthy complexity. Full to medium weight, itÕs sumptuously flavoured with a deep. long core of redcurrants, cassis and blood plums backed by older oak and framed by drying, quite firmish, dusty but slightly unpolished tannins.

    d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2011
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Earthy and leathery, this short to medium-term shiraz reveals a sweet, spicy fragrance of small black and red berries, spice and graphite laced by suggestions of white pepper. Full to medium in body, it wraps its meaty flavours of small black and red fruits in a firmish cloak of drying and faintly metallic tannins, finishing with richness, depth and a light mineral note.

    d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2012
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Rather raw and assertive at present, this surprisingly powerful and assertive shiraz has the depth and balance to cellar well. Lifted by scents of exotic, musky spice, it reveals deep, meaty and earthy aromas of blackberries, dark plums and dark chocolate. ItÕs long, medium to full in body, with a generous expression of ripe, almost bloody fruit framed in slightly old-fashioned style by a drying extract.

d’Arenberg The Galvo Garage Cabernet Blend 2003
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Fine-grained, elegant and complex, this slightly rustic red has a lightly herbal and tobaccoey bouquet of red berries, cherries, plums and blackcurrants enhanced by restrained cedar/vanilla oak and undertones of forest floor. Surprisingly sumptuous given its restrained expression of berry fruits and very fine tannins, it reveals pleasingly earthy and undergrowth-like complexity, finishing savoury with an attractive length of fruit sweetness.
