Grippy, generously flavoured shiraz with some intense blackberry, redcurrant and plum flavours in addition to some rather stewed, dehydrated prune and currant influences. Upfront and vibrant, but lacks vitality on the palate, finishing rather stale and cooked.
Lacking real intensity and focus, this cooked, currant-like shiraz does offer some light plum and redcurrant-like fruit paired with older oak. Medium to full in weight, it finishes simple, soft and savoury, without much fruit brightness or vitality.
A juicy, assertive and brightly presented young shiraz without a hint of overripeness. Its sweet fragrance of small black and red berries, black pepper, cloves and cinnamon is neatly balanced with vanilla oak, while its palate represents a step forwards in brightness and focus for this label. Searingly intense, with a background of coconut and vanilla oak, it’s vibrant and juicy, finishing with refreshing acidity.
A rich, forward, hot year wine that lacks typical intensity and focus. Its dark, jammy and rather cooked aromas of redcurrants and raisins overlie modest influences of cedar/chocolate oak. Its thick, drying palate begins with sumptuous dark fruits, becomes rather hollow, then finishes firm and raw-edged with slightly metallic acids.
A marginally cooked and shorter term shiraz with a meaty, spicy and earthy expression of blackberries, mulberries and blueberries with undertones of currants, cloves, white pepper and dried herbs. Initially juicy but becoming more raisined and stewed down the palate, it finishes with sour-edged rhubarb and plum-like flavours, lacking genuine length.
Firmly structured and sinewy, with a slightly baked presence of dark plums, berries and redcurrants coupled with restrained cedar/vanilla oak and lifted by a spicy presence of cloves and nutmeg. It begins with intense, ripe dark fruits, but winds up fractionally early, with a slightly angular, metallic and salty finish.
