Fragrant, floral and limey aromas of fresh apples and pear precede a fruity, forward and concentrated palate whose juicy apple/pear fruit culminates in a crisp finish of racy acidity. Punchy, varietal and assertive.
A flavoursome, broad, toasty but still refreshing riesling with a slightly herbal and green cashew-like fragrance with dusty and lightly sweaty undertones. Built around some chalky phenolics, its powdery and generous palate of lime and lemon sherbet flavours is punctuated by vibrant acids, but still lacks genuine shape and definition. Likely to become quite full and fat.
A trim, lean riesling whose fresh, floral and citrusy aromas have a slightly confectionary aspect. Long and restrained, it’s a tart and high acid style whose lively expression of citrus and apple fruit finishes clean and austere. Well made, and needing time in the bottle.
Sweaty, reductive aromas eventually blow away to reveal a scent of fresh lime and a long, tangy and austere palate that finishes with refreshing acidity. Sadly bottled without adequate care to ensure a minimum of unbound sulphide, which of course its screw cap will only exacerbate. Contrary to the view of many English critics, this is not the fault of the seal, but of the finishing of the wine.
Candied, barley sugar and lime juice aromas with greenish undertones precede a spicy, rather angular and cooked palate whose tangy forward flavours of citrus, melon and mango thin out towards a slightly sweet, raw and sour-edged finish of sappy, metallic acids.
