An honest, vibrant and grassy sauvignon blanc whose intense gooseberry/passionfruit flavours burst their way down a long, juicy palate that finishes with mineral cut and definition. There’s a pungent, sweaty aspect to the aroma, while the finish is long and tangy
A broader, rather confectionary sauvignon blanc whose lightly grassy, tropical aromas of passionfruit and melon precede a rich and juicy palate. It’s very generous, with a hint of capsicum and a little spirity warmth, but finishes clean and a little austere.
Pretty, ripe and uncomplicated, with punchy, if slightly confectionery, herbal aromas of gooseberries and lychees. Round and generous, itÕs oily and viscous, with cassis, gooseberry and lemon-like fruit finishing slightly cloying and lacking true acid definition.
Rather vegetal and cabbagey, with some candied, tropical aromas over a whiff of capsicum. Showing some under and over-ripened fruit, its juicy, confectionary palate of tropical flavour lacks genuine length and brightness.
Honest and varietal, with fresh, lightly herbaceous and dusty aromas of gooseberries, lychees, melon and lemon sherbet over a hint of minerality. It presents a chalky palate whose initially round and juicy presence of melon and passionfruit-like flavour does finish with clean, lemony acids, but without genuine length and persistence.
An unusual, confectionary and fruit juice-like white whose punchy, lightly herbal aromas of gooseberries, passionfruit and lemon sherbet reveal chalky undertones. Concentrated and juicy, itÕs very primary, sweet and cloying, lacking much length, shape and vinosity.
Beautifully made, this charmingly rustic and elegant wine should develop some delightful complexity. Its floral perfume of musky spices, violets and rose garden is underpinned by deep scents of blueberries and redcurrants, with faint earthy and meaty undertones. Smooth and silky, with vibrant fruit underpinned by a gentle, almost caressing spine of fine tannins, it finishes with good but not exceptional length, and a fresh, but soft acidity.
