Wild, evolved and meaty, with a heady bouquet of floral, waxy and wheatmeal-like aromas overlying stonefruit and citrus, itÕs knit with some assertive spicy vanilla oak and backed by a whiff of ginger. Luscious and syrupy, heavily oaked, angular and spicy in its youth, it delivers a very restrained, ginger-like expression of peach/citrus flavour finishing slightly awkwardly, but with length and spiciness. It should continue to develop over the shorter term.
A substantial wine, not for the long term, but likely to evolve impressively over the next four to five years. Very mealy, complex and oaky, with assertive creamy, leesy undertones beneath its grapefruit, melon and pineapple aromas, itÕs laced with spicy notes of cloves and cinnamon, with some floral, waxy notes emerging. deeply layered, sumptuous and mouthfilling, its intense core of fruit, nutty and mealy complexity and tight-knit oak balance neatly, finishing with length and strength.
Spicy aromas of white peach, melon, grapefruit and assertive vanilla oak backed by nuances of pineapple, cinnamon and cloves reveal undertones of mineral, ginger and sherbet. Long and savoury, with a green-edged cut of acidity, it delivers a handsome depth of fruit backed by spicy oak, a pulpy lemon rind-like texture and creamy, funky and meaty complexity.
Complex and flavoursome, with a spicy bouquet of grapefruit, cumquat and yellow peach knit with vanilla and clove-like oak, with undertones of ginger, smoked meats and a spiky, edgy note. ItÕs round and juicy, with intense stonefruit and grapefruit flavour backed by meaty, creamy and funky complexity, finishing with waxy, cinnamon-like notes and a very tart, rather awkward and slightly varnishy acidity.
Long, spicy and savoury, with a deeply fruited, faintly spiky bouquet of citrus, melon and assertive pineapple notes backed by mealy, grainy and nutty complexity with creamy, nougat nuances. Its long, intense presence of tropical glace-like fruit, pineapple, melon and peach is backed by sweet vanilla oak but finishes with an awkward, faintly oily sweet-sourness.
Forward and relatively simple, with a waxy, mealy and rather dull bouquet of restrained melon, peach and grapefruit backed by nutty, creamy yeast-derived complexity and cashew-like oak. Its forward, slightly cloying presence of juicy peach, melon and grapefruit flavour extends towards a rather diffuse finish, lacking great shape and definition.
Spicy, waxy aromas of grapefruit, melon and dried flowers are underpinned by dusty, nutty suggestions of ripe peach and dried flowers. Smooth and creamy, nutty and textured, its long, generous palate of stonefruit and grapefruit, pear and apple reveals assertive creamy oak, a savoury aspect and nuances of clove and cinnamon. While its oak is a fraction overt, itÕs an improvement over several preceding releases.
Nutty, mealy aromas of baked apple, cinnamon and clove backed by creamy vanilla oak precede a long, creamy palate whose gentle presence of fruit steadily reveals more brightness and freshness. Supported by an assertive presence of sweet vanilla oak, it finishes with soft acids, but a spicy, sour-edged aspect.
Smoky, waxy aromas of citrus, nectarine and smoky oak overlie suggestions of wheatmeal and sweetcorn. Initially round and juicy, with some viscosity and richness, its luscious core of peach and nectarine fruit loses its intensity down the palate, which becomes quite stringy, raw and drying with discordant oak-derived tannin, finishing with some minerality but also rather a sour-edged spikiness and greenish nuance.
Firmish and rather closed, with a wild, rustic bouquet whose scents of red and blue berries, polished cedary oak and dark plums are lifted by sweet floral notes. Supported by a firmish spine of crunchy tannins, itÕs smooth and meaty, with a deep core of plum and berry flavour. It leaves an impression of latent power and should unfold in future.
