Sweet aromas of cassis, dark plums and dark olives with suggestions of chocolate, cedar and forest floor are complex and fragrant. Long and dusty, saturated with vibrant fruit flavours, it is framed by firm, but slightly hard-edged tannins. Its depth of fruit easily carries some assertive new oak qualities.
Dusty, leafy aromas of violets and undergrowth, with suggestions of dark olives and licorice, cassis and polished cedary oak. Long-living, robust palate steeped in small berry fruits and plums, tightly closed in a fist of slightly herbal but astringent tannins, smoothed over to an extent by cedar/vanilla oak, finishing with cigarboxy nuances.
Dusty, perfumed bouquet of violets and undergrowth over sweet aromas of cassis, plums, cherries and raspberries against a background of restrained cedary oak. Stylish, supple and very restrained; a polished, powder-fine palate whose slightly sappy fruit knits tightly with smooth extract and well integrated oak.
A firm but finely balanced red of depth and power. Its lightly smoky, meaty perfume of violets and cassis, cedar and chocolate is both complex and intense. It unfolds to reveal layers of spectacularly concentrated cherry/berry/plum fruit, robust tannin and lingering earthy flavour. The muscular extreme of Cullen reds.
Deeply perfumed with scents of violets, cassis and plums, with meaty suggestions of very ripe fruit beneath highly aromatic creamy mocha oak. Sweet, slightly confection-like berry fruits present a fine and supple palate supported by creamy oak and a fine spine of bony tannin. A more restrained and willowy expression of this wine.
Perfumed and floral, with aromatic small berry and oak influences. Polished and elegant, with meaty, undergrowth-like undertones beneath a supple, smoky and oaky expression of plum and small berry flavours. Quite firm, but lacks the plush smoothness of top vintages.
A fragrant perfume of violets, rose petals, cassis and raspberries with sweet cedar/vanilla oak aromas and herbal, dusty nuances. Its pristine, perfectly focused palate is saturated with intense black and red berries. Supple and willowy, with restrained oak, it is tightly framed by fine tannins.
Meaty, slightly smoky ethereal fragrance deeply laden with brooding dark fruits. Sumptuous, opulent palate of remarkable depth and drive, saturated with concentrated, juicy berry cabernet, black cherry/tobacco merlot influences and cedar/mocha oak. Framed by firm, tightly knit tannins, it finishes long and persistent, with lingering dusty, minty nuances.
Pristine perfume of violets, dark berries and plums, lightly minty, dusty and smoky, over strongly scented vanilla/bubblegum/mocha oak. Classically long and silky, with a sumptuous depth of plush, pristine black berry/dark cherry fruit tightly integrated with supple, drying tannins and smoky fine-grained oak. Superb balance, length and harmony.
Youthful but polished Margaret River blend with a perfume of sweet wet earth, cassis, mulberries, black cherries and dark plums, with creamy mocha and chocolate oak. Long and firm, itÕs a tightly structured wine of smoothness and suppleness. Its bright small red and black berry flavours are tightly knit with chocolate oak, while its tannins presently reveal some of the rawness of youth. They will certainly smooth out as the wineÕs bouquet builds in volume and complexity.
Restrained, supple and elegant cooler season cabernet blend with a spicy, petit verdot-driven aroma of dark plums, mulberries, cassis and violets, supported by lightly smoky and fine-grained cedar/mocha oak. There’s a dusty whiff of herbaceousness and mint, also present beneath the fine, but surprisingly firm palate. Dark olives and small berry fruits, green pepper and creamy oak are framed by fine-grained but grippy tannins, finishing long but a fraction closed. Should develop more charm and complexity with time.
A deeply fruited, finely balanced, firm and long-living cabernet blend. Its alluring, dark perfume of violets, cassis, mulberries, dark cherries and blood plums is supported by fragrant and fine-grained chocolate/vanilla and cedary oak, with undertones of forest floor. Satiny soft, its plush palate of juicy small berry and cherry flavour is framed by firm, powdery tannins and backed by smooth, polished chocolate oak. Charming, spotlessly clean and beautifully measured.
