    Craiglee Shiraz 2003
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Rather a massive and concentrated wine for this vineyard, certainly reflective of an ongoing series of hot, dry vintages. Its ripe aromas of cassis, raspberries and dark plums deliver a light perfume of pepper and exotic spices, dried herbs and licorice. Sumptuous and dark-fruited, its robust but tightly crafted palate frames a slightly cooked spectrum of plum, blackberry, dried herb and prune-like flavour with fine-grained and powdery tannins, finishing with faint suggestions of dehydrated fruit and spirity undertones. A fine piece of winemaking in challenging times.

    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Powerfully ripened, this robust and tannic shiraz has a slightly stewed and meaty bouquet of blackberries, blueberries, cassis and dark plums with spicy undertones of cinnamon, star anise, white pepper and cedar/vanilla oak. Concentrated and quite astringent for this vineyard, its dark and mineral palate of deep plum and blackberry fruit finishes long and drying, with a sour-edged aspect and a hint of iodide.

A finely crafted, stylish and savoury shiraz of medium depth and weight with a floral, spicy perfume of cloves and cinnamon. Framed by fine, drying tannins, its supple and minty palate of sweet blackberry, cassis and mulberry flavour and dusty, herbal undertones knits tightly with chocolate oak, finishing with lingering dark fruit and regional influences of mint and menthol.

    Craiglee Shiraz 2006
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Clearly made from marginally stressed fruit, this is an artfully created wine of balance and charm. Backed by spicy nuances of clove, cinnamon and star anise, its peppery fragrance of red berries, cherries and cedar/vanilla/bubblegum oak precedes a reserved, supple and dusty palate. Underpinned by fine tannins, with a licorice-like presence of slightly cooked fruit, itÕs long and elegant, if not for the long term.

Likely to develop charm and elegance in the bottle, this fine, delicate shiraz has a meaty, earthy and leathery bouquet of dusty, briary dark berry aromas backed by nuances of chocolate, cloves and cinnamon. Medium to full-bodied, itÕs still remarkably concentrated, with deep, dark flavours of mulberries, blackcurrant and raspberries knit with fine, velvet tannins, revealing reductive complexity and finishing with length, depth and fresh acidity.

A peppery, supple and earlier-maturing shiraz whose lightly floral and spicy fragrance of redcurrants, red cherries and cedary oak reveals a faintly herbal aspect. ItÕs sweetly fruited but rather ethereal and translucent, with a genuine length of gentle fruit underpinned by a fragile, dusty spine that finishes with a fresh, soft acidity without any greenish edges.

    Craiglee Shiraz 2012
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Tasted just after bottling, this delicate but complete and evenly ripened shiraz has a subtle but deeply scented perfume of raspberries, cassis, black pepper and five spice underpinned by subtle notes of creamy vanilla oak. ItÕs long and gentle, with a smooth, finely crafted palate whose rather fragile presence of pristine cassis, raspberry and redcurrant flavour reveals nuances of dark plum and cedary oak. Underpinned by fine, supple tannins, itÕs likely to build considerably, appearing to have what it takes to be a worthy follow-up to the stunning 2010 vintage.

    Craiglee Shiraz 2013
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very reserved and restrained, this youthful shiraz should build considerable depth and perfume. Scented with dusty, floral and faintly peppery aromas of small black and blue berries knit with gentle cedary oak, itÕs long and supple. Already showing a light meaty, savoury aspect, its lively presence of small berries and dark plums is supported by a firmish but pliant spine and finishes with a bright acidity. All it needs is time.
