An elegant and savoury merlot whose sweet chocolate/mocha/vanilla oak and some delicate blue floral notes lift its slightly raisined and currant-like aromas. Initially plump, smooth and generous, with juicy flavours of plums and red berries, it becomes more restrained and earthy as it extends towards its finish of lingering meaty fruit and fine, kernelly tannins.
Stylish and deeply layered; dark cherries and plums, cedary oak and a faint meatiness.
Generous, ripe and very honest, with mountains of cherry/plum fruit standing toe-to-toe with a showcase of mocha and chocolate oak. A friendly, voluptuous and flavoursome alternative in a marketplace teeming with skinny thin pinots.
Despite some fairly substantial oak treatment, there remains a village Beaujolais quality about this vibrant, brightly flavoured young pinot noir. Its minty/menthol fruit suggests confection-like juicy small berries and dark plums, while the oak imparts toasty mocha influences to a surprisingly chewy palate. Bound by firmish fine tannins, it’s likely to build further richness in the bottle.
Rather stewed and herbaceous pinot whose raspberry/cherry-like fruit is supported to an extent by some sweet mocha and vanilla oak, but still appears dilute and rather weedy in the middle of the palate. Failed to ripen fully, finishing sappy and green-edged.
A sweet perfume of ripe raspberries, cherries, creamy vanilla oak and an underlying spiciness precedes a soft, silky and willowy palate. Backed by some assertive oak, its sweet, juicy flavours of cherries, raspberries and plums offer genuine weight and structure, but finish with an attractive lightness and freshness.
Absolutely charming early-drinking pinot noir, with genuine underlying structure and texture. Its floral perfume of rose petals, red cherries and cedar/chocolate/vanilla oak reveals spicy, clove-like undertones, while its smooth, silky and pristine palate explodes with the brightness of youthful pinot fruit. Supple and succulent, it’s long and juicy, but finishes clean and savoury.
Firm and astringent, this rather powerful and sumptuous pinot delivers a wild, heady bouquet of deep black cherry and plum aromas over sweet chocolate/mocha oak and some slightly cooked and stewed elements. Dark flavours of blueberries, cherries and cassis stain its sumptuous, drying palate.
