A pleasingly elegant cool climate cabernet with a sweet cedary fragrance of cassis and dark plum, violets and vanilla oak, with undertones of green bean. Sweet creamy oak enhances the roundness and juiciness of the mid palate, while smooth tannins enhance the length, harmony and piercing nature of its vibrant small berry flavour.
Its heady, violet-like perfume of blackberries, cassis, mocha and dark chocolate reveals classic varietal undertones of dried herbs and briar. Long and elegant, its sumptuously flavoured palate of deep, dark fruit and charcuterie-like oak is framed by a strong but pliant cut of fine tannin, finishing refined and savoury with faint suggestions of mineral, mint and menthol. It’s beautifully elegant and balanced, capable of extended cellaring, and offers exceptional value for money.
Rather meaty, green-edged and awkwardly metallic, this moderately rich cabernet presents spicy aromas of dark plums, blackberries and cassis backed by tarry, smoky influences. Underpinned by fine tannins and backed by sweet and savoury oak, it finishes both cooked and greenish, with nuances of dried herbs, tough bitter tannins and a lingering meaty aspect.
Elegant and stylish, this measured and fine-grained cabernet has a dusty and faintly herbal fragrance whose smoky aromas of cassis, mulberries and cedary oak reveal nuances of underbrush and graphite. Supported by a gravelly spine, its excellent length of dark plum, blackberry and cassis flavour knits tightly with polished creamy, cedary oak, finishing with a briary aspect.
A terrific little uncomplicated, lively and vibrant young chardonnay whose pure citrus and melon fruit simply shines through the glass. There’s some smoky, herbal complexity to the aroma, while the palate is fleshy, bright and creamy, bursting with tobacco/melon fruit and integrated oak. It finishes long, with soft, fresh acidity.
Quite a stylish, smooth and savoury little chardonnay with a slightly closed and withdrawn aroma of sweet buttery, creamy and peachy lemon fruit. There’s a pleasing hint of fattiness about its soft and nutty palate whose vibrant stonefruit and melon flavours finish with a hint of tobacco.
A charming early-drinking chardonnay with honeyed aromas of peaches, sweetcorn and vanilla oak before a round and generous palate whose slightly sweet stonefruit flavours are supported by creamy vanilla oak. Finishing with lightly toasty and honeyed influences, it’s smooth and silky, finishing with a cut of refreshing acidity.
Slightly developed for its age, this lightly candied young chardonnay has a creamy, peachy and tropical aroma with undertones of banana, grapefruit and fresh cashew/vanilla oak. Forward and juicy, its tangy melon-like fruit finishes with moderate length and freshness.
A rather exaggerated, shorter term chardonnay with a small level of smoke taint whose lightly fragrant, honeyed, buttery aromas of citrus, melon and sweet oak reveal undertones of creamy, leesy complexity. Round and juicy, its generous, viscous and almost oily palate of grapefruit, melon and tropical fruits is underpinned by a fine chalkiness but becomes quite smoky, drying and slightly acrid towards the finish.
