Generous and grassy enough to please its legion of buyers, this is rather a disappointingly broad and brassy expression of this wine, whose green bean aromas and cooked fruit profile lack their customary freshness and reflect a more obvious cut of vanilla oak than usual.
Punchy aromas of lime, lemon, passionfruit and honeydew melon with herbal undertones of gooseberries and cassis. Ripe, juicy and almost oily, its vibrant fruit flavours finish with clean, lively acids and a lingering note of lemon sherbet.
Right on the style button is this zesty, racy and refreshing Margaret River white blend. Its punchy aromas of passionfruit, lemon and gooseberries present a good measure of grassiness, but not an excessive one. It’s smooth, fleshy and textured, with a generous palate finishing with vibrant flavours and acidity, and a measured light dose of slightly smoky oak.
A long, minerally sauvignon blanc with some appealing complexity. Its nutty, dusty and floral aromas of citrus, gooseberries, melon and passionfruit are underpinned by a light grassiness, some restrained vanilla oak and a suggestion of creamy lees. Long, smooth and savoury, its vibrant expression of melon and lemony fruit finishes with a pleasing cut of austerity. Tightly focused and restrained.
Rather simple, lean and lacking its customary presence of fruit, this lightly grassy young blend has a light tropical fruit aroma and a clean palate without much by way of concentration.
A fresh, lively expression of this regional style with texture and balance. Its fragrant aromas of gooseberries, passionfruit and tropical fruits overlie nuances of cut grass. Underpinned by a fine chalkiness, its pure, juicy palate has length, richness and a streamlined shape culminating in a fresh, focused and faintly mineral finish.
An exemplary Margaret River white blend with exceptional line of flavour and mouthfeel. Punchy aromas of gooseberries, passionfruit, cassis and lime juice backed by suggestions of minerals, chalk and a light grassiness precede a long, evenly paced and juicy palate whose vibrant fruit is underpinned by a talc-like texture. It finishes with freshness, persistence and a tangy acidity.
