A spicy, white pepper fragrance of blackberries, plums, violets and light vanilla oak precedes a smooth, lively and lighter palate whose red and black berry flavours are framed by fine, but slightly sappy tannins. Finishes savoury, with some peppery complexity.
Exemplary, elegant, deeply flavoured and finely balanced Coonawarra shiraz whose fresh spicy, peppery and violet-like aromas of cassis, cherries and violets overlie restrained nuances of cedar/vanilla oak. Its long, smooth and juicy palate of essence-like shiraz fruit is neatly supported by a fine-grained spine of tightly interwoven tannin, delivering a lingering core of flavour before a meaty, savoury finish.
Full to medium in weight, this rather meaty and dark-fruited shiraz is packed with brambly flavours of blackberries, blueberries and dark plums. It also reveals overripe nuances of currants, raisins and spice cake as well as under-ripened vegetal notes. Polished mocha oak smooths out the palate, but it still finishes a little short and sweet, lacking a little freshness and brightness.
Plush and generous, scented with a violet-like bouquet of cassis, raspberries and white pepper, with aromatic cedar/vanilla, faintly chocolatey oak and a faintly jammy note. It’s smooth and elegant, revealing a viscous, juicy presence of sweet berry fruit and nutty oak supported by a faintly green-edged and metallic extract. Likely to flesh out into a more complete, medium to full-bodied wine after just a couple of years.
Smooth and polished, this juicy, sweetly fruited shiraz of medium to full body has a faintly dusty, herbal fragrance of delicate black and red berries and cedary oak lifted by a scent of white pepper. Its sweet, confiture-like expression of redcurrant, blackberries, cassis and licorice-like fruit extends with length, elegance and freshness down a gentle, pliant palate towards a fresh, savoury finish with lingering notes of mint and menthol.
Elegant and willowy, with a wild, brambly and faintly jammy bouquet of blackcurrants, redcurrants and cedar/vanilla oak backed by nuances of musk and dark flowers. Its gentle, medium to full-bodied palate combines juicy berry fruit with restrained oak and a pliant spine of fine tannins, finishing with minty cola-like notes and fresh acids.
Cracked pepper, blackberries, dark plums, cassis and polished cedary oak; smooth and measured, juicy sour-edged fruit and dusty tannins, finely balanced.
