Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 Shiraz Blend 2003
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A succulent, pristine and superbly poised wine whose spicy floral fragrance of pure dark plum and cassis aromas is lifted by musky scents of cinnamon and clove. Medium to full in weight, it is simultaneously rich, smooth and superbly elegant, delivering spotlessly clear and vibrant, jujube-like small berry and plum flavours framed by smooth, supple tannins.

Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 Shiraz Blend 2004
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A classic wine of silkiness, perfume and elegance. Its heady, floral bouquet of vibrant black and red berries, dark chocolate, cedar and vanilla oak, musky spices and meaty undertones precedes a smooth, delightfully fine-grained and surprisingly sumptuous palate. Its intense, spicy dark fruits extend well down towards the lingering, savoury finish, while the viognier smoothes over the fine and slightly powdery tannins with ease. Very balanced and entire.

Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 Shiraz Blend 2006
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A developing leathery red whose earthy presence of cassis, raspberries, plums and blackberries is backed by dark pepper, clove and cinnamon-like spice and meaty reductive nuances. Smooth and polished, with rich fruit and mocha/chocolate qualities, it becomes rather cooked and raisin-like towards a drying and just slightly edgy finish, where it also reveals some greenish undertones.

Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 Shiraz Blend 2007
    Jeremy’s score 80/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Quite cooked, stewed and green-edged, with a light expression of plums and berries. More importantly, it carries a significant measure of smoke taint.

Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 Shiraz Blend 2008
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very finely crafted, with a heady bouquet of black and red berries, alluring floral notes and fresh creamy cedar/mocha oak backed by suggestions of briar and exotic spices. ItÕs long and silky, with a luscious, rather polished but supple presence of pristine berry/plum/cherry fruit underpinned by a dusty spine of tight-knit, kernelly tannins. It finishes with simply beautiful focus and charm.

Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 Shiraz Blend 2010
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Edgy and lightly varnishy, with a cedary, light greenish and mineral bouquet whose small black and red berries overlie rather spiky aromas of heavy-handed vanilla oak and underbrush. ItÕs both jammy and green-edged, with a sweet, edgy presence of small berry fruit knit with awkward, cardboardy oak, lacking integration and charm. Questionably handled, from under and overripe fruit.

Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2 Shiraz Blend 2014
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Assertively oaked, this sumptuous and slightly old school red has a layered bouquet of dark berries and plums knit with chocolatey oak, spice and cracked pepper, minerals and blue flowers. Impressively long, its rich, juicy core of dark fruit and slightly drying oak extends with power and drive over a faint meatiness. Needs time.
