    Bremerton Old Adam Shiraz 2006
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Richly fruited, velvet-smooth and luscious, this plush and juicy shiraz marries spicy dark liqueur chocolate-like fruit flavours of dark plums, berries and cassis with smoky vanilla oak. ItÕs a shade spirity, but itÕs concentrated enough to deliver a sumptuous, moderately firm and meaty palate without appearing too alcoholic. It finishes with savoury, mineral notes and a lingering presence of licorice.

Ripe and spicy, this heavily oaked and faintly spirity shiraz has a cigarboxy bouquet of cassis, dark plums and blackberries knit with mocha and coffee grounds and dark chocolate-like oak, backed by nuances of smoked bacon and briar. ItÕs sumptuous and dark-fruited, with a firm, slightly raw-edged palate presently dominated by oak-derived chocolate, mocha and smoked oyster influences, finishing with a savoury hint of saltiness.

    Bremerton Old Adam Shiraz 2008
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Finely crafted and mineral, but a little too savoury/saline for a higher rating. Its heady, spicy and briary perfumed of blackberries and dark plums is laced with cracked pepper and backed by assertive chocolate/mocha oak, with undertones of smoked oyster. ItÕs smooth and polished, with deep layers of intense, brightly lit small fruits, oak and polished tannin, but finishes with a distinct saltiness.

    Bremerton Old Adam Shiraz 2009
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A deeply ripened, rather jammy and popular style whose densely packed, minty and musky bouquet of violets, cassis, raspberries, dark plums and dark chocolate/vanilla oak reveals undertones of iodine and menthol. Rich and raisined, itÕs slightly porty and fruit brandy-like, with a warm but seamless presence of briary dark fruits, mocha/coffee grounds oak and firm but pliant tannin. It finishes smooth and polished.

    Bremerton Old Adam Shiraz 2010
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

ItÕs ultra-ripe and rather porty, with an alcoholic strength of 15.5%, but this will certainly please those who enjoy the genre. Its raisiny, currant-like bouquet does reveal some fresh cassis and blackberry-like fruit backed by sweet charry and cedary oak, while its sumptuously smooth, luscious and syrupy palate is more pruney, plummy and chocolatey. Supported by fine, pliant tannins and backed by smoky oak, it finishes with length and richness.

A traditional, oaky Australian shiraz with sweet, slightly meaty and porty aromas of small black and blue berries, plums and mocha oak backed by a suggestion of prune and currant. Sweetly fruited, its long, juicy palate of vibrant small red, blue and black berries is handsomely backed by assertive mocha, vanilla and coconut ice oak, extending smoothly towards a juicy, mineral finish with a lingering hint of smoked oyster.

    Bremerton Old Adam Shiraz 2013
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Clearly fashioned into a richly oaked and deeply fruited style, this smooth, luscious shiraz packs some delicious, mouthfilling flavour and velvety texture. Laced with nuances of peppermint and spearmint, its deep aromas of cassis. blackberries and dark plums are backed by quite showy, smoky chocolate/mocha oak. Underpinned by fine, tightly knit chalky tannins, its concentrated, sumptuous core of fruit soaks up its charry oak, finishing with genuine length and a lingering impression of roasting pan juices. Surprisingly elegant.

  • Bremerton Old Adam Shiraz 2014
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $56.00

Tasted at 11 years of age, this is a maturing, pleasing and complex expression of the fuller-flavoured South Australian variety but with a little more elegance and balance than one might initially expect. Smoky scents of dark fruits, cigarboxy oak and roasting pan drippings precede a long, richly flavoured and smooth palate underpinned by fine, powdery tannins and culminating in a savoury, faintly saline finish. Very good, but just lacking the polish for a gold medal score.
