tropical and faintly mineral verdelho whose faintly grassy bouquet of pineapple and melon-like fruit is lifted by a delicate scent of blue flowers. ItÕs long and juicy, with a round, mouthfilling presence of bright, concentrated fruit that drives long down the palate towards a fresh, tangy finish of lemony acids.
A crisp, taut and lively dry white whose fresh, faintly herbal and mineral bouquet of lemon and melon reveals just a hint of salt bush. ItÕs forward and frisky, with a tangy, if slightly sweet presence of fruit extending with moderate length over a fine chalkiness towards a clean, semillon-like finish of racy acidity.
Faintly tropical, with fresh pear, apple and guava; long and frisky, with tangy lemony acids.
Meaty, almost gamey aromas of plums, prunes and currants, black pepper and spices, mocha and chocolate. Sumptuous and creamy, its vibrant, juicy flavours of cassis, raspberries and plums are evenly matched with sweet chocolate oak, finishing with a firm, but not overly aggressive extract of tannin and a lingering note of mint. There’s a hint of dehydration, but the wine is fresh and vibrant.
A relatively fast-maturing old-fashioned shiraz whose earthy, meaty expression of developing flavour reveals suggestions of chocolate and barnyard. It’s drying out a shade towards its rather rustic, slightly bretty finish.
Nicely polished, generous and elegant, this well made shiraz has a sweet, smoky bouquet of fresh black and red berries, licorice and dark chocolate backed by notes of mocha, caramel, polished leather and bitumen. Very smooth and approachable, itÕs full to medium in weight, with a deep presence of dark plums, blackberries, raspberries and cassis finishing with notes of mint, menthol and just a savoury hint of saltiness.
Ripe and luscious, this smooth, generous and uncomplicated shiraz delivers a juicy, briary expression of cassis, raspberries and dark plums backed by rather assertive, slightly raw and charry chocolate-like oak. Full to medium in weight, itÕs spicy, meaty and lightly peppery, with a juicy, almost soupy palate supported by slightly inadequate and loose-knit tannin. Lacking a little shape and structure, it finishes with mineral and faintly salty undertones.
