A beautifully composed, sumptuous and supremely elegant wine whose heady aromas of violets, blackberry confiture, creamy dark chocolate oak, cloves and nutmeg are lifted by suggestions of musky spice. It simply drips with a plump, juicy presence of dark plums and berries sweetly knit with smooth, creamy vanilla and bubblegum oak and framed by a firmish chassis of loose-knit tannin. It finishes with excellent length of bright, but slightly sour-edged flavour and a finely integrated, refreshing acidity.
Long, firmish and profoundly varietal, with a spicy, earthy bouquet of blackberry pastille, cassis, raspberries and violets lifted by fresh, lightly smoky oak and backed by a hint of currant. Firm and dusty but a little raw edged and forward, the palate bursts with deep flavours of blackberry and beetroot, finishing with nuances of soy and iodine.
An exceptional wine for its price, with a highly accentuated floral, dark cherry and cassis aromas with undertones of dried herbs and sweet oak. Long, smooth and elegant, with pristine dark berry fruit flavours tightly knit with powdery tannins and dusty oak, finishing with nuances of herbs and tobacco. A supple and stylish package, with genuine structure and balance.
