There’s brilliant value in this austere, tart and long-living riesling from one of Clare’s best-ever vintages. Less ripe than is commonly made today, it reveals a minerally, lemony bathpowder fragrance hinting of steel, lime juice and musk. Long and racy, it’s fine and chalky, with a pristine mouthfeel of tangy, juicy citrus fruit and a hint of lees-derived funkiness, punctuated with puckering mineral acids.

  • Tim Adams Riesling 2003
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Another excellent riesling from this highly rated maker with a delicate floral and mineral aroma of lemon rind, lime juice and rose petals, and a succulent but lingering, restrained and chalky palate of bright citrus flavours. Its length of fruit, its brightness and clarity, and its dusty, powdery texture stamp this as a classy wine with a long future.

  • Tim Adams Riesling 2005
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

An intense, focused and tightly sculpted wine with a fragrant perfume and a racy, chalky palate that finishes long, dry and minerally. Its slatey aromas of lime and lemon juice have an almost exaggerated floral aspect, while the palate presents a lingering core of citrus and apple flavour.

  • Tim Adams Riesling 2006
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A first-rate wine from this vintage. Its intense, tangy aromas of lime juice and lemon sherbet reveal suggestions of mineral and a fractionally candied fruit aspect. Long, fine and austere, its shapely palate delivers fine length and persistence over a fine-grained powdery phenolic undercarriage. It finishes with crunchy acids.

  • Tim Adams Riesling 2007
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Mouth-wateringly tangy and refreshing this long, smooth and citrusy riesling reveals a hint of buttered toast and honey beneath its aromas of pear, apple and white flowers. Underpinned by fine, chalky phenolics, its long, lingering palate of crunchy and slightly candied juice and lemon, becoming richer and more generous with time in the glass.

  • Tim Adams Riesling 2008
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A fine, elegant riesling with an intense perfume of musky white flowers, lime juice and lemon zest plus a piercingly intense and austere palate whose pristine core of citrusy fruit is underpinned by fine, chalky phenolics and finished by refreshingly taut and bitey acids. Delightfully sculpted and focused.
