Bright, complex and rather wild, with a wild, earthy bouquet of blackberries, dark cherries and blueberries, restrained cedar/vanilla oak lifted by scents of cassis and violets. Medium to full-bodied, itÕs mouthfilling and elegant, with a pleasing density of fruit supported by loose-knit, grainy tannins finishing long, smooth and almost savoury with lively acids and no hard edges. ThereÕs a persistent core of brightly lit fruit and a light herbal note.
Faintly herbal, with a pretty, violet-like fragrance of sweet mulberries, red berries, dark plums and cedary oak and a long, elegant palate whose restrained flavours of small black, blue and red berries reveal dusty, herbal nuances. Supported by fine, powdery tannins and knit with reserved cedary oak, it extends towards a lean and slightly green-edged finish.
A very stylish, finely balanced and elegant red for the medium term. Its alluring, floral perfume of dark plums, berries and cherries overlies gamey, earthy complexity. Approachable and complete, itÕs fullish to medium in body, with a crunchy spine of polished tannins beneath a faintly sour-edged palate of pristine fruit. It finishes savoury, with genuine length and focus.
Ripe and sweet-fruited, with a musky, dusty scent of gooseberries, guava, lychees and vanilla oak, this juicy, round and generous wine delivers in intensity what it might lack in complexity. It’s broad and flavoursome, finishing rather shapely and focused with a lick of slate and a citrusy acidity.
Finely balanced, austere and shapely, with a lightly smoky bouquet of gooseberries, pear, lime and white peach whose undertones of cinnamon, oak and minerals are lifted by fresh floral perfume. ItÕs long and lean, with deep layers of tangy lemon, lime and pear-like fruit and a bathpowdery texture tightly focused towards a clean, sculpted and mineral finish.
A grown-up sauvignon blanc, with deep regional drive and length. Herbaceous and lightly smoky, its vibrant expression of honeydew melon and gooseberry flavour is round and juicy, mouthfilling and generous. Underpinned by a fine chalkiness, it finishes long, dry and refreshing, with lingering nuances of lemon zest, mineral and apple blossom.
A smoky, mineral and floral, acacia-like bouquet with nuances of lanolin precedes a long, mineral and chalky palate whose modest depth of gooseberry and melon flavour is wrapped in a tangy, lemony finish. It reveals more fruit sweetness with aeration.
Very lean, finely textured and chalky, but ultra-shy in its fruit expression. Delicate, light oaked aromas of lychees and gooseberries with herbal undertones precede a long, nervy palate whose penetrative lemony fruit is wrapped in an austere acidity, but tends to lack brightness and intensity.
