Exploring the limits of this regional style, this funky, briny and slatey white blend reveals rather a meaty, pungent bouquet whose aromas of gooseberry and honeysuckle are backed by toasty oak and reductive, earthy elements. Punchy and savoury, its rich, chewy palate delivers plenty of intense fruit before finishing tightly with refreshing mineral acids. Unusually wild and complex.
Austere and shapely, with a heady scent of gooseberries, dried herbs, citrus flowers and lightly nutty vanilla oak backed by suggestions of grassiness and minerals. Long and focused, itÕs vibrant and juicy, with a lingering palate of passionfruit, gooseberries and citrusy flavour underpinned by a fine, powdery texture. It culminates in a briny finish of pristine fruit, taut acidity and pleasing minerality.
Long, austere and mineral, with a dusty, lightly herbal, nutty and toasty fragrance of gooseberries and restrained vanilla oak backed by nuances of lemon, lime and cinnamon. Its fine, chalky palate presents a pleasing depth and luscious presence of pristine citrusy and melon-like fruit tightly focused around a taut, briny finish of refreshing lemony acidity.
Complex, rather funky aromas of melon, white peach, pineapple and gooseberries with undertones of ginger, cloves and snow pea are backed by lightly toasty vanilla oak. ItÕs long, austere and mineral, with layers of bright, crystalline fruit culminating in a fine lick of slate and a briny finish emphasised by a lingering core of passionfruit and tropical fruit flavour.
Zesty, complex and savoury, with a fresh and alluringly smoky, earthy and mineral bouquet of restrained gooseberry/melon fruit , creamy and lightly herbaceous complexity. ItÕs long and creamy, with a pure core of tangy fruit charmingly augmented by wild ferment-derived complexity, finishing with focus, balance and a lingering suggestion of wet slate.
Complex and barrel-fermented, with texture and balance. Scented with a lightly herbal, floral and toasty bouquet whose pure aromas of fresh melon, gooseberries and passionfruit reveal a hint of tropical fruits, itÕs tightly focused but handsomely oaked. Long and chalky, with lightly herbal flavours of gooseberries, melon and tropical fruits culminating in a fresh finish of steely acids, it departs with a lingering funkiness and a briny note of oyster shell.
Extremely taut and lean, with a very reserved and lightly herbal bouquet of lychees and vanilla oak plus a long, austere palate whose core of pithy, lemony fruit extends towards a finish of exceptional tightness and acidity. It has plenty of length but has been harvested so early itÕs hard to determine whether or not it has the depth of flavour for much will develop with time in the bottle.
Taut and steely, this rather nervy but tightly focused and lightly funky white blend has a faintly herbal and toasty bouquet of fresh gooseberries, melon and a hint of lychee backed by nuances of bath salt-like minerality. ItÕs long and pristine, with a pure and tightly focused palate of bright fruit underpinned by a fine chalkiness and tightly knit with vanilla oak, finishing long and briny with fresh and rather bracing lemony acids.
