Ageing, leathery and cedary cabernet with a minty aroma of small berry fruits and a bright, forward palate finishing with slightly sappy, but fine-grained tannins. Quite elegant and competent, but unspectacular.
A generous, ripe, slightly jammy and meaty cabernet with bright cassis and blackberry flavours matched by faintly cardboard-like vanilla/cedar oak and backed by suggestions of dried herbs. Supported by dusty, powdery tannins, its generous, if slightly unpolished palate shows a hint of fruit stress, finishing with a raisined aspect and a hint of saltiness.
Rather old-fashioned and meaty, this hot, jammy and spirity cabernet presents ripe, jammy and slightly overcooked flavours of red and black berries and plums backed by an assertive and vegetal presence of sulphides. It lacks true mid-palate sweetness and finishes with some raw-edged hotness.
Polished and quite oaky, with an intense, penetrative bouquet of small black and red berries, cedar/vanilla oak and a hint of dusty leafiness. Long and smooth, with a fine, dusty but firmish undercarriage and an assertive presence of creamy mocha oak, it delivers deep, dark and minty small berry flavours that finish with a hint of menthol and raisin.
Rather sweet and porty, dark and meaty, with a currant-like thread beneath its confiture-like flavours of blackcurrants and raisins, plus some minty suggestions of dried herbs. ItÕs moderately long but spirity, finishing with notes of dehydrated fruit.
Rather tired, cooked and meaty, with baked, currant-like aromas lacking lift and perfume. ItÕs sweet, rather simple, forward and soupy, with a very jammy presence of fruit backed by sweet oak, finishing with lingering notes of mint and menthol.
Very ripe and jammy, this rather overdone and cooked cabernet has a , smoky and slightly gluey bouquet of baked small berry and plum aromas backed by suggestions of raisins and varnish. ItÕs plush and smooth but almost medicinal in its minty, menthol-like expression of sweet, luscious fruit and slippery oak. It finishes warm and spirity.
Clearly and deliberately made in an assertively oaked style, this wine does deliver the depth and brightness of vibrant fruit to retain balance and integrity. Its smoky, slightly jammy bouquet of cassis, dark plums and a hint of raisin is handsomely cloaked in mocha and dark chocolate oak influences, while its smooth, polished and velvety palate marries its pastille-like dark fruit flavours with similarly evident oak. It finishes long and sumptuous, with a lingering core of fruit and mocha, smoked oyster-like notes.
