Elegant and finely balanced, this deeply flavoured shiraz has a spicy, sweetly oaked and faintly minty bouquet of cassis, blackberries, briar and chocolate/vanilla notes backed by a ferrous, mineral aspect. ItÕs full to medium-bodied, with a luscious, pastille-like core of cassis, blackberries and dark plums and newish chocolate/mocha oak framed by tightly knit, sandpapery tannins that finishes long and lingering with a brightly lit acidity.
Long and finely integrated this superbly structured and balanced shiraz has a fragrant peppery bouquet whose aromas of cassis, redcurrants and fresh cedar/vanilla oak are backed by musky clove-like notes and a meaty aspect. Medium to full-bodied, itÕs long and elegant, with a fresh, juicy presence of blackcurrant, blueberry, blackberry and dark plum flavours underpinned by a fine, powdery spine of mineral tannins. It finishes quite savoury, with a lingering core of fruit and persistent notes of meatiness, leather and licorice.
Stylish long-term Clare shiraz with sumptuous black fruits and chocolate oak backed by notes of mint, menthol and mineral. ItÕs spicy and peppery, with genuine length and drive. Keep it.
Charmingly fresh, flavoursome and finely balanced, with an alluringly pure bouquet of lavender, fresh lime juice, apple and pear backed by nuances of wet slate. Long and elegant and drilled into shape by a bright acidity, it presents a penetrative, concentrated core of pristine fruit underpinned by suggestions of minerals and talcum powder. Very persistent, and set for the long term.
A classical, slow-maturing riesling whose pristine, youthful bouquet of intense lime, lavender and small white flowers reveal a chalky, schisty background. Long, supple and tightly focused, its explosively intense, pristine citrusy fruit extends down a refined but slatey palate towards a crisp finish of fresh lime juice acidity.
Pure and pristine, with a heady, faintly toasty and oily bouquet whose intense aromas of lime juice and green apple skin are lifted by a scent of white flowers. ItÕs long and shapely, with intense, translucent flavours of lemon and lime extending towards a taut, tangy finish of balance and focus. A keeper!
Artfully balanced, generous and stylish, with a heady bouquet of pear, apple and white peach lifted by scents of lemon blossom and a whiff of chalkiness. It’s juicy but tightly controlled by a wet slate-like backbone, with an intense core of crunchy fruit extending long and finely honed towards a crisp, citrusy finish, building intensity and expression as it does.
