  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 1994
    Jeremy’s score 94/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Underpinned by a faintly herbal, thread, this long, firm and supremely elegant Bin 707 has a complex, cedary, cigarboxy bouquet of small dark berries and plums, backed by vanilla/dark chocolate oak. Supported by firm, dusty tannins, itÕs a classic matured cabernet with smoky, cedary, graphite-like complexity beneath its relatively youthful presence of dark fruit. It still has plenty of life and development ahead.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 1996
    Jeremy’s score 98/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Deeply scented, highly accentuated and translucent fruit is perfectly married with smoky cedar and vanilla oak in this powerful wine of rare balance, tightness and elegance. Perfectly ripened and mouthfilling cassis, blackberry and plum fruit of piercing length and intensity finishes lightly sour with a simply unbelievable cut of firm, powdery tannins. A great wine.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 1997
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

It’s a very good wine, but its inescapable cut of green herbaceous fruit, so typical of its vintage, detracts from an otherwise polished and refined Bin 707. It’s packed with mulberries and blackcurrants, a suggestion of wild mint and some very well handled oak and the wine doesn’t lack much of its customary power and astringency. For those of you actually intending to drink your 707, do cellar this for the rewards.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 1998
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $625.00

In the footsteps of the brilliant 1996 wine comes another densely packed, multi-layered 707 of rare strength and depth. So young it simply couldn’t be opened now, its deep flavours of blackcurrants, dark cherries and plums are ripened to the point of headiness, and ably counter its cedary, nutty, chocolate oak and monumental extract of puckering, ripe tannins.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 1999
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Ripe and heady aromas of cassis, mulberries and dark plums, with aromas of violets, cedar, vanilla and chocolate cigarboxy oak are lightly jammy. Ripe, smooth and sumptuous; long, soft and approachable. Squashy blackcurrants and blackberries are tightly knit with firm, powder-fine tannins and smoky, creamy, coconut American oak, finishing long and savoury. A very good wine, unusually approachable for Bin 707, and faster to mature than most.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 2001
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Firmly constructed cabernet with a floral perfume of violets and briary small berry fruit and sweet new vanilla oak before a deeply concentrated and astringent palate saturated with flavours of blackberry, plum and cassis. There are some slightly cooked and currant-like undertones to its fruitcake-like fruit, while the assertive chocolate oak and drying tannins contribute to its impressive structure.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
    Jeremy’s score 96/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A welcome return to form for this important wine. It slowly unfolds a very closed and deeply layered bouquet of intense small black and red berries, plums and slightly meaty, deep mocha/dark chocolate and cedary oak. Its deeply ripened and sumptuously concentrated palate of dark plums and berries, chocolates and cassis is firmly structured around a supremely fine-grained cut of bony, kernelly tannins. Finer and more elegant than either 1996 or 1998 vintages, without a hint of over-ripeness, it’s deep and brooding, with an exceptional cellaring potential.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
    Jeremy’s score 97/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A long, seamless and very sophisticated cabernet despite its significant dimensions, structure and power. It opens with an intense violet-like perfume of aromatic cassis, blackberries and dark plums over dark chocolate and mocha-like oak, with meaty, briary undertones. Simultaneously very firm and cultivated, it’s steeped in piercing flavours of blackberries, dark plums and cassis, and backed by very smart oak and robust, pliant tannins. It’s long and savoury, with a lingering core of explosive dark fruit and dusty, dried herb-liked nuances. A genuine Bin 707.

  • Penfolds Bin 707 Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Saturated with luscious flavours of dark berries, plums and cassis, this super (but not over) ripe cabernet is handsomely oaked and impressively supported by firm, almost raw-edged and savoury tannin. A violet-like perfume lifts its aroma, while its spectrum of fruit encompasses nuances of prunes, currants and dark olives as well as undertones of dried herbs. It finishes long, polished and slightly meaty, with a lingering presence of plush, concentrated liqueur-like fruit, cocoa and mocha.
