Penfolds Bin 600 Cabernet Shiraz 2018
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

An uncomplicated, forward young red whose dusty aromas of redcurrants, cranberries and sweet oak reveal nuances of roasting meats, spearmint, bay leaf and cola. Initially quite juicy, its bright, slightly confectionary expression of red fruits and chocolatey oak is framed by mouthcoating tannin but then gives way to rather a raw, drying finish that crimps its length of flavour. Lacks length and drive of fruit.

Penfolds Bin 60A Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 1962
    Jeremy’s score 99/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Astonishingly complex, gamey and smoky, with a classic cigarboxy perfume backed by musky, leathery notes. A complete, richly structured palate of remarkable ripeness, concentration and vibrant, if slightly prune and plum-like flavours of incredible fruit sweetness extends over an assertive, emphatic spine with lingering cedar/polished furniture notes. It finishes with exemplary length, weight and balance and a still-tingling acidity. Does wine get much better?

Penfolds Bin 60A Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2004
    Jeremy’s score 98/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A superbly balanced and assembled wine of massive power, structure and texture. Its dense aromas of brilliant cassis, violets, sweet vanilla/chocolate oak and dark olives are still closed but tightly focused, backed by undertones of white and black pepper, walnuts and prunes. Dense and deeply packed, its long and assertive palate of deep blackcurrant and plum-like flavour is framed by a firm, drying, powdery astringency, finishing with just a hint of prune and currant. A worthy and perhaps unexpected addition to this historic bloodline.

Scented with a dusty, peppery bouquet of cassis, blackberries, dark chocolate/mocha and vanilla/cedar oak backed by undertones of blueberries, dark plums and roasting pan scrapings plus a hint of marsala spice, this deeply flavoured but elegant and fine-grained blend is long, pristine and totally seamless. Genuinely regional, itÕs dark-fruited and supple, with a powerful presence of dark plums and berries knit with cigarboxy oak underpinned by fine, firm and powdery tannins. It finishes with a lingering core of fruit with notes of graphite and dried herbs. Certainly a new spin on the Penfolds theme.

Penfolds Bin 704 Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Sweet aromas of red berries, cedar/vanilla oak and cola with notes of balsamic vinegar, oregano, menthol and roasting meats precede a palate of medium to fullish weight. Bright, juicy black, red and blue fruits slowly emerge, but the wine is book-ended by a raw-edged finish of drying, chewy and almost bitter tannins. It lacks finesse and genuine balance.
