Time alone is needed on cork for this savoury pinot to fully deliver on the palate everything promised by its spicy rose garden fragrance of red cherries, sweet plums and cinnamon, smoky and vanilla oak. Dark cherry pinot flavours that border on the essential are set against slightly aggressive and smoky oak, assertive alcohol and firm, lingering tannins. Lacks great length and structure as it ages.

    Paringa Estate Pinot Noir 2000
    Jeremy’s score 93/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Typically spicy, floral and musky perfumed pinot whose dark cherry and plum aromas are offset by stalky and smoky chocolate oak influences. Rather concentrated and quite stylish with a bright, juicy palate of intense ripe fruit, finishing long and savoury. Fractionally cooked for top marks.

    Rated 0 out of 5

Meaty, savoury and early-drinking pinot with a sweet, spicy aroma of slightly stewed plums, dark cherries and meaty, currant-like qualities. Smooth, polished and marginally stressed, its concentrated and forward palate of dark plum, berry and currant flavours finishes soft and savoury.

    Paringa Estate Pinot Noir 2003
    Jeremy’s score 87/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A rather hard-edged pinot whose slightly dull, herbal aromas of cherries, cooked plums and red berries over cedary vanilla oak precede a forward, stewed and meaty palate that appears heavily worked for its modest depth of bright fruit.

    Paringa Estate Pinot Noir 2004
    Jeremy’s score 89/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A sweet fragrance of red berries, cherries with floral, spicy and slightly varnishy undertones precedes a smooth and sappy palate framed by firmish, fine and powdery tannins. There’s weight and structure aplenty, with lively flavours of red berries, cherries and plums finishing long and savoury. A little more fruit intensity would see a higher score.

    Paringa Estate Pinot Noir 2005
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Intense aromas of polished, smoky, bacony oak and rather simple, confectionary red cherry/berry fruit precede a ripe and rather thickly set palate that lacks genuine charm and elegance. Rather too ripe and oaky for a higher rating

    Paringa Estate Pinot Noir 2006
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A firmish, flavoursome and well balanced pinot that simply needs a little time. Scented with a spicy, floral perfume of raspberries, cherries and restrained vanilla oak, nuances of caramel and dried herbs, itÕs long and vibrant, with intense red fruit flavours supported by a marginally raw and hard-edged undercarriage of bony tannins, finishing with length of fruit and vibrant acidity. It should become more silky with time.

    Paringa Estate Pinot Noir 2007
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Very ripe and slightly baked, with a musky, earthy presence of ripe plums and redcurrants, red cherries and raspberries, lightly toasty seasoned oak and undertones of cloves, cinnamon with meaty, currant-like undertones. ItÕs quite sumptuous and forward, but lacks genuine brightness and vitality on the palate finishing quite firm and a little chunky, with edgy raw metallic notes and oak-derived tannins.
