Firm and gravelly, with a translucently clear, searingly intense presence of cassis, mulberry, dark plums and dark olives backed by polished cedar/vanilla/chocolate oak and a hint of baked earth. Underpinned by regional notes of mint and dried herbs, its sour-edged core of fruit overlies a drying, crunchy spine, extending with remarkable length and focus. Complete, elegant and finely balanced.
A dark, palate-staining malbec whose penetrative presence of briary dark plums, cherries and currants is supported by a firm, fine astringency. ItÕs laced with regional notes of mint and menthol, and despite its six years of age looks as if it might have been made yesterday. For the ultra-long term, itÕs likely to become quite spicy and savoury with age.
Stylish and reserved, this measured, polished, craftsmanÕs wine has a youthfully perfumed bouquet of sweet red fruits, blue flowers and restrained cedar/vanilla oak lifted by immature scents of bubblegum and banana. ItÕs gentle, elegant and silky-smooth, medium to full-bodied, with searingly intense flavours of bright red, black and blue fruits knit with subtle older oak and fine velvety tannins. It finishes with exceptional length, balance and freshness.
Pristine blueberry, cranberry, dark plum aromas over creamy oak and vegetal notes with a sweet floral lift. Juicy and vivacious, with fine tannins and racy acids.
An assertive, powerful shiraz with fragrant, meaty aromas of sweet berries, overtones of spicy prunes, currants and plums, plus a suggestion of black pepper. Richly structured, but lacking its customary core of vibrant fruit, it’s perhaps a wine of shorter-term cellaring than usual from this vineyard.
