Pungent mint/eucalypt aromas, sweet cherries, tomato and plums precede a thick, chocolatey palate with a fine, firm, lingering finish. Will improve.
Fragrant, youthful and minty aromas of plums, cherries, rosemary and tomato stalk, with a sweet forward palate of dark fruit that finishes a little astringent and hard. Firm, lacking elegance, the result of a particularly warm vintage, this wine still needs time.
Fraction hollow, but supple, charming and elegant. Dark smoky chocolate oak offsets plum, blackberry and blueberry fruit wrapped in soft, fine tannins.
Spicy white pepper and vegetal notes with cassis and mulberry fruit and lighter oak. Little hollow, lacks weight and ripeness, but not without charm.
Good wine from a difficult vintage, with musky cooked fruit characters and vegetal/herby undertones. Acceptable weight and strength, chocolate oak.
A class act. Very elegant, complete, supple and smooth, with restrained, but piercingly intense dark fruit, smoky oak and fine tannins. Some earthy, gamey development, tight and finely balanced.
Punchy, ripe and assertive, loaded with creamy smoked oyster/chocolate American oak, but carries enough searingly bright cassis and plum fruit to carry it. Firm, yet very approachable, plush and smooth.
A deep, very concentrated shiraz almost raw in its youthfulness. Layers of deep, minty aromas of cassis, plums and blueberries are lifted by a deep floral fragrance, musky spices and undertones of briar and black pepper. Coated by assertive, firm tannins, its ripe almost liqueur-like palate is thickly laden with searingly intense flavours of plums and blackcurrants, knit tightly with sweet chocolate/vanilla oak, before finishing long and penetrative, with a slight lingering mintiness.
An improving wine with intense mulberry, plum and cassis backed by spicy licorice and greenish stalky whole bunch influences. Tight, fine and peppery, supple and reserved.
