  • Coriole Rubato Reserve Fiano 2022

    $55.00

A proper white wine from fiano; unusually expressive, generous and savoury, with a wonderful depth of flavour and a finely balanced texture. A musky, floral fragrance of Fuji apple skin, pear and melon with undertones of mineral and creaminess precedes a very gentle but emphatic palate whose long, faintly meaty core of fruit drives down a fine mineral crunch towards a refreshingly long, briny finish which leaves a peacock’s tail of musky fruit.

    Coriole Sangiovese 1997
    Jeremy’s score 90/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Already showing typical signs of browning, this lightly oaked young red flaunts its reductive character with leathery and slightly sweaty development, helping to accentuate the sweet-sourness of its ripe red and black berry fruit and savoury, nutty complexity. Varietally correct, laced with licorice and bitumen, it’s simply chock full of character.

    Coriole Sangiovese 2004
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

A finely honed sangiovese whose appealing and varietally correct qualities are presented in a precisely focused, tightly astringent and savoury wine. Its perfume of plums, red and dark cherries is floral, dusty and earthy, with meaty undertones. Supple, smooth and sour-edged, its pure core of vibrant fruit is backed by meaty, earthy undertones, framed by fine-grained and drying tannin, and finished with delightfully refreshing acidity.

    Coriole Sangiovese 2009
    Jeremy’s score 88/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Slight baked and early to mature, with a spicy scent of raisins, currants, cloves and nutmeg lifted by a floral, rose garden perfume. Slightly dilute, its forward and raisined, firm and sinewy palate lacks its customary structure and length, but should flesh out over the short to medium term.

    Coriole Sangiovese 2010
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Genuinely varietal and likely to build in the bottle, this frisky young sangiovese has a spicy scent of red flowers, red cherries and dried herbs backed by dusty fennel-like aromas. Moderately firm and fine-grained, with a deep core of spicy cherry/plum fruit supported by fine, chalky tannins, it extends towards a vibrant, lively and savoury finish of bright acidity.

Revelling in its varietal qualities, with fragrant, floral scents of ripe red and black berries, cherries and meaty undertones. Its vivacious, sweetly fruited palate delivers pristine, juicy flavour that borders on jamminess but extends over a fine, pliant but firmish backbone towards a finish of deliciously refreshing acidity.
