Its mineral and tropical fragrance of passionfruit, lychees, dried herbs and salt bush precedes a smooth, long and reserved palate whose bright core of explosively intense gooseberry, passionfruit and tropical flavours extend evenly and gracefully towards a fine, lightly chalky and mineral finish.
Stylish, long and briny, this intense, pristine sauvignon blanc has a perfume of white flowers, lychees, passionfruit and gooseberries backed by a light grassiness and a hint of tropical fruit. Its stylish and streamlined palate delivers a persistent core of juicy flavour supported by a fine mineral undercarriage and finishes with tangy, lemony acids. Likely to age well.
Long, elegant and restrained, this measured, lean and chalky sauvignon blanc perhaps lacks the bite and intensity of previous vintages. Its lightly herbal bouquet of gooseberries, honeydew melon and white flowers reveals a faint chalkiness, while its long and tightly focused palate of gooseberries, tropical fruits and a hint of cassis is tight wound around a typically dusty spine, with a tangy cut of lemony acid.
Perhaps the most sophisticated and savoury sauvignon blanc yet from this maker and a real Loire Valley look-alike, with an intensely aromatic bouquet of gooseberries, dried herbs and creamy yeast-derived notes lifted by delightful floral perfume. Initially round and very intense, its precise flavours of gooseberry, melon and a hint of passionfruit extend long and gentle towards a nutty, savoury finish punctuated by a vibrant, lemony finish.
An outstanding, punchy, generous and Loire-like sauvignon blanc whose pristine, faintly mineral and meaty bouquet of gooseberries, lychees, lemon and melon precedes a round, luscious and richly fruited palate that ,moves with length, drive and freshness towards a refreshing and briny finish. Musky scents of white flowers, gooseberries and lychees with nuances of basil, oregano and lavender precede a vivacious, mouthfilling palate whose pristine, translucently clear varietal flavour is delivered with creaminess and generosity. Finely honed, it overlies a faintly powdery spine, extending long and nutty before tapering towards a racy finish of lively acidity.
Few drinkers of serious Australian wine are even aware of this very Loire-inspired expression from Gippsland in Victoria. Scented with floral notes of lychees, gooseberries and passion fruit backed by meaty, waxy and nougat-like aromas, it’s luscious and layered, long and gentle. Underpinned by minerals and marzipan, it finishes long and savoury with lingering notes of cured citrus and a bright acidity.
