A fine shiraz of genuine regional and varietal identity. A bright, spicy and lightly floral bouquet of blackberries, cassis, violets and chocolatey oak reveals a hint of menthol, while its smooth, generous palate marries deep, juicy flavour with sweet oak and rather polished, pliant and approachable tannins. Very drinkable right now, without a hard edge in sight.

Upfront and juicy, with ripe cassis/dark plum flavour and smoky, chocolatey oak; thins out towards the finish.

Deeply ripened, luscious dark berries and plums knit with smoky chocolatey oak. Supported by firmish, powdery tannins, it finishes with sour-edged licorice notes.

  • Pepperjack Shiraz 2017
    Jeremy’s score 91/100

    Rated 0 out of 5

Pristine, peppery and exotically spiced; pastille-like dark berries and plums with cedar/chocolate oak, extending juicy and vivacious.

  • Pepperjack Single Vineyard Series Shiraz 2022
    Jeremy’s score 95/100

    $100.00

A polished, dark-fruited Barossa shiraz whose deep aromas of blackberries, dark plums and cassis are handsomely supported by chocolate/mocha oak and backed by suggestions of roasting meats, exotic spices and a whiff of balsamic vinegar. It’s smooth and unctuous, unfolding a plush, sumptuous core of flavour tightly knit with faintly charry oak and underpinned by a fine-grained spine of gravelly tannin. Easy drinking now or into the future.

    Petaluma Anova Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
    Jeremy’s score 92/100

    Rated 0 out of 5
    $150.00

A Coonawarra cabernet that reveals itself ever so slowly to possess a perfume of dark flowers, cassis, mulberries and dark plums with a hint of meatiness but also some rather raw and planky oak. Medium to fullish in weight, it presents a smooth, elegant palate with vivacious small berry fruit and a fine, powdery extract. While its oak does eventually tighten into the wine, it leaves a rather hard-edged and drying impression at the finish.
