A very stylish, deeply flavoured, effortless and already very approachable blend whose heady bouquet of violets, blackcurrants, redcurrants, dark plums and blackberries are deftly backed by nuances of cola, dried herbs and cedary oak. Full to medium weight, itÕs richly fruited and deeply layered, with a fine-grained presence of dark plums, ripe berries, a vegetal hint of malbec and earthy, slightly meaty notes underpinned by a polished spine of chalky tannins, finishing with excellent length, freshness and a tightly focused acidity.
A distinctive, finely balanced and long-term classic wine whose heady, violet-like scents of red flowers, cassis, mulberries and blood plums are handsomely backed by fresh chocolate/vanilla oak, a hint of dark olive and dusty notes of dried herbs. ItÕs full-bodied and full-flavoured, with a long, palate-staining presence of dark berries and plums tightly knit with fresh cedary oak and supported by genuinely firm, fine-grained tannins, finishing with finely balanced and mouthwatering acids.
Vibrant, pastille-like and faintly sour-edged black and blue-edged fruits with measured cedar/chocolate oak backed by tight layers of fine, drying tannins. Fullish to medium in weight, with length and freshness.
Very much alive today, this charming old school Australian cabernet slowly sheds its minty appearance to reveal layers of still vibrant dark fruits and leathery, cigarboxy complexity underpinned by fine, gravelly tannins. Fullish to medium in weight, itÕs long and complete, with just enough menthol and firmness to remind you where it came from.
Remarkably pure, long and finely balanced, this complete and essential cabernet of near-perfect varietal expression and integrity has a heady, deeply floral, minty and penetrative bouquet of violets, cassis, mulberries and blueberries deftly knit with fresh new cedary oak. ItÕs classically long, shapely and perfectly balanced, with an outrageous length of pristine fruit tightly crafted around a firm, plaint spine of drying tannins, soaking up its classy, tight-grained oak and finishing with exceptional intensity and focus. A truly great wine Ð as simple as that!
